[0x7FFA6B0718E0] ANOMALY: meaningless REX prefix used
Hi, all console applications on both of my PCs started showing this before running in the command line: [0x7FFA6B0718E0] ANOMALY: meaningless REX prefix used
The hex address never changes and it occurs on both of my PCs. When I disable AVG (AntiVirus FREE version 2015.0.5941), it disappears. Disabling individual components of AVG does not remove the problem, only disabling the whole AVG protection at once.
It has been happening for only about a week. I'm using Windows 8.1 64-bit on both PCs, they are both fully updated systems. Running a full PC scan shows no threats.
I use Comodo Firewall FREE (dont worry, just the firewall, no other stuff they offer, like PUP detection), but even disabling the whole Comodo software does not solve the problem. Only turning AVG off does it.
Please help, it's annoying and seems to be a bug. There is no functional change to any programs AFAIK, but I bet it should not be appearing. Seems like an AVG bug...
Hi Michal, In order to analyze it please provide us with http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_SysInfo.exe output (run it after inducing described behavior) and please add detailed description of issue. Thanks
I have the same problem. As a consequence, the Android SDK Manager malfunctions. (Because the output from \Users\John\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\tools\lib\find_java64.exe includes the "ANOMALY" line.) I'll run AVG_SysInfo and provide the result to y'all.
Hi John, I would like to let you know that the data has been passed to our developers(AV-8286). Please note that this thread will be updated when further information is required from our team. Thanks

Fix to this issue should be included in AVG 2015 SU8.
Thanks
