avg 2014 license error

This evening, i have uninstall my old version of AVG free and reinstalling it with the latest version AVG 2014.4592. Installation went smoothly and prompted me to restart the PC. Once restarted, it prompt message of AVG license Error.

I have been using AVG free for the past 5 years and had no issue on the installation and usage and i chose AVG as it offer best free antivirus protetion i review through Internet. As this is Free product, shouldn't the license should be handle internally and does not require me to re-enter.

I am using Window 7 Ultimate 64 bit. As for history, previous AVG free installation on October 2013 has no issue at all.

Thus i would appreciate if the in charge team from AVG to provide the solution on this.

Error message as below

                   AVG is not able to reconize your License Number.

                   Please click on Re-enter and enter your license number again.
                   If it does not resolve the problem please reinstall AVG.

i have manage to resolve the issue. the root cause is that the license key provided in the AVG Free  version 2014.4592 was actually incorrect, incorrect length to be specific. Once i key in the correct key length and restarted, it does not prompt the the license error.

Based on AVG website, correct format is ABCDE-FGHIJ-KLMNO-PQRST-UVXYZ-12345 but the one i saw when i intiate the repair installation is ABCDE-FGHIJ-KLMNO-PQRST-UVXYZ. Clearly this show the license key embbed in the AVG free installation file was incorrect.

Even though this is a free product, but i do wish for more attention and carefulness to be include as part of the product integrity.

AVG never display last part of license it doesn't mean that it is not there.

i take your answer as it is. However i have try 5 times installation but all giving me the same error as above. Doesn't that mean that the license included in the installation is incorrect.

Regardless, i just want to help improve the experience of the product as i believe AVG is a very good AV.

The issue was resolved.
