Talking to Sales Support/anyone?

I'm at my wits end! I would like to renew my AVG and have had an email to say it will be automatically renewed.
BUT it doesn't say how much will be charged, if I have to remove the old one, download the new one, which account I used 2yrs ago etc etc.
Thought this was simple but have tried ringing the UK number and get an engaged signal (weird), online chat for 2 different support depts and neither connects, filled in forms. The email option seems unavailable and the message sent is of course 'do not reply'
How the heck to I get to speak to someone please?
I'm so unimpressed with this after 2hrs of trying that I feel my only option is to stop payment and go to another company I can get information from.
Would be really grateful if someone could help here.

Thank you for the link Alan. It took a while but I did get to chat.
However it did take in total over 3hrs of effort (1hr online chat) to answer 'how'much' would the item cost. I also needed to know 3 other simple things about the purchase and the info wasn't clear, didn't give me confidence or couldn't be answered due to maintenance.
I can't face another log on chat. You must see why I'm still exasperated.

By phone this would have taken about 5mins to ask and answer.
To help to install, and this was complicated last time purchased it.

My previous purchase was by phone with excellent service as was the technical back up. I would love to have got this sorted straight away as I'm really busy at the moment. But I do need the full information before I do this and be confident in what is happening.

Any reason that I'm just getting an engaged signal? Ringing (0) 800 652 4940 the number suplied.

Thank you Alan but I tried all that before I found this forum. The only options are Live Chat which I've tried and was not happy with and phone - which I've tried repeatedly only getting an engaged signal.
I asked a friend to try it on their line and they couldn't get through either.
The phone number was different to the website on the last try but all I still get is an engaged signal.
It gives me no confidence in buying a product when I cannot get through to talk to a human being should anything go wrong.
When I purchased the 2yr product last time the tech dept was excellent and I did the purchase and installing over the phone. It was simple and efficient. Good product, good service.
Seriously I'm in search for something else where I can have a quick phone call/purchase. Life's too short for all this.
It is exasperating! Perhaps they should put you in charge, you seem to have good customer service.

Ok so ignor that. It appears with the help of a techie friend who gave up his time, that it has been auto renewed 8 days early, I have been charged £10 more than I was quoted in the online chat and it seems AVG had already taken payment before this quote, so had I accepted I could have paid twice.
My Account and the Invoice in it still don't show me where the money was taken from. There is no card or bank account number. The online chat didn't tell me where it would be taken from or how much would be taken despite that being my question to them.
So far 6hrs and I have achieved nothing and I still need another 1hr to track down myself where this money was taken from.
Ditto the generic email sent to say it had been automatically renewed, which only serves to confuse by trying to cover all possible bases thereby being very worrying as you don't know which events apply to you.
This won't be happening again. Very disappointed in the company as it is now with complete lack of communication, conact or simple accurate response to questions by the only means possible, Online Chat. Others have caught on that customer service is the key to sales.
