IDP.ARES.Generic - this virus or malware turns up every restart even after AVG removes it on startup

Hi AVG peers,

I'm worried that my laptop is completely infected because of:

IDP.ARES.Generic - this virus or malware turns up every restart even after AVG removes it on startup

It has messed up my laptop - Dell Inspiron 3558  as i can tell its slower and less responsive.

Would someone kindly guide me to permanently remove this Virus / Malware

I was thinking, that AVG internet security and the firewall would quarantine and keep my laptop safe.

I am very concerned that my info and laptop data will be sote

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Mathew John

Hello Matthew,
Thank you for the information. We got the screenshot. We see from the screenshot that the threat is detected from the temo file. In this case, we suggest you to check if there is any other security software installed in your computer. If there is any, please remove the same and check if that stops this detection. And also, we suggest you to delete all the temp files in your computer. Please open the run command and type as %temp%. And delete all the files in the temp folder and then type in run command temp. And remove the files. This should fix this issue. If you still have any issue, feel free to contact us.
Thank you.
