Problems when installing Adobe CC

I have just subscribed to Adobe CC (photographic). I installed the CC app which automatically downloads and installs Lightroom without issue. As soon as I installed Photoshop my browser locked up and I was unable to go online or even sustain an existing connection. The situation appears to be described here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/multiple-processes-for-console-based-script-host/afad4ec4-05da-49f4-8b33-5495f6062d90?tab=question&status=allreplies&page=1
Most of the suggestions made here are a bit outside my comfort zone. I note that one contributor seems to have made a case for assigning the blame to an AVG product. If this is indeed a conflict between two popular families of software then it would seem likely that other AVG users  have encountered similar difficulties. Has anyone found a fix fit for the uninitiated?
FWIW I am using AVG Internet Security.

Just to clarify, the issue was not access to Photoshop but access to the web via a browser together with a vast number of M'soft Console scripts showing up in task manager - I wouldn't know the nature of any connection!
However, I tried your suggestion and disabled AVG. I also turned off the Firewall - I don't know if that was implied. I then went direct to Adobe, downloaded and installed Photoshop and paused for five minutes. No scripts showing up. Visited AVG via browser - no problems. Turned everything back on. Have since restarted a couple of times and all seems fine. I think you have solved my problem - Thanks!
IIRC ten years ago "May need to disable antivirus while installing software" was a familiar concept but this is the first time I have needed to do so and sure enough - I'd forgotten.
If you would like to be extra helpful a brief comment on whether I was correct to turn off the firewall as well would be appreciated. Thanks agin.

AVG,

I have been searching the Internet to solve my problem and have finally made the connection between AVG and Adobe. I have come across forums that had users uninstall windows 10 up to 3 times and some were replacing hard drives just to fix the issue. I personally went on a war path removing programs and running system health checks to include at least 48 hours (and counting) of down time from the Internet. I have been unable to complete any school work or business related task, AND I am approaching several deadlines. Adobe has claimed that AVG is the cause of my in ability to do anything over the Internet. I can ping websites successfully, I can use other devices successfully, I can even use the rest of my computers functions successfully. I just cannot actually use the Internet, for any application or program on my PC. Currently I am staring at 100+ Microsoft Console Based Script Host (32 bit) processes on my Screen, and I don't know how to move forward. I have restored my PC, just for it to act the same. Should I purchase different Antivirus? Because getting rid of creative cloud is not gonna be possible.

Willie,

We do understand how difficult this is for you, we apologize. Do not worry, we will do our best to resolve this issue. Make sure that your AVG program is up to date with latest version of AVG (2016). We would request you to follow the below steps to reinstall your AVG network filter to get issue fixed.

-Disable AVG Self Protection (http://avgclick.me/TempDisableAVG).
- Go to Control Panel -> Network Connections -> right click on the network area which is active -> "Properties"
- If there is "AVG Network filter driver" uninstall it and restart the computer twice
- AVG Firewall initializes auto-repair function so "AVG Network filter driver" should be automatically installed (therefore two restarts are needed)
-980888528-980888528 (Avast)
- If there isn't "AVG Network filter driver" click "Install " -> "Service" -> "Have Disk" -> "Browse" and look for
c:\Program Files\AVG\AV\Drivers\avgfwfd.inf
- Click "Open" button and follow the prompts
- Restart the computer twice
- Enable AVG Self Protection back.
If the issue persist please let us know, we are here to help you. Thank you.

Ranjani Bakthavachalam,

So, I will give the path above a shot, as soon as I figure out what to do from my new current situation.

I went to lavasoft and downloaded ad-aware. as Ad aware finished I received a win32/Zperm virus alert from AVG. Now I feel like I may be in even hotter water. Can AVG handle this? for now I will click protect me and hope for the best.

The issue was not corrected with the suggested actions. I tried multiple attempts but cannot wait any longer to resolve this issue through AVG. Perhaps someone else will find guidance through this discussion thread. I am respectfully removing AVG from my desktop, laptop, game pc, and 3 android devices. I am going to try bit defender since I just subscribed for a year since this issue started. If Bit defender fails, I shall entertain returning to AVG services as I have enjoyed them for the past 2 years.

Thank you

Hello Willie,
Please uninstall all AmtiVirus apps from your computer and update Windows and reinstall Adobe CC (including apps) and then install AVG back. Once this is done, please check if the issue gets resolved.
Thank you

Hi Karthikeyan,
I would like to share that your method of resolving the bug has worked for me. My Win10 was affected by the "multiple-processes-for-console-based-script-host". The internet connection became partly dysfunctional and would only connect to google based websites. Looking back the Problems only started when Adobe CC updated Photoshop. Since AVG is always running on my machine, I can only assume that this bug may have occurred in this correlation. Will there be a fix for this issue? Understandably Id rather avoid reinstalling all this software after every adobe update. Or is there a manual solution (like turning off the firewall before the update)?

We are glad to know that the suggestion provided worked out but do you mean that you still face the issue when AVG Firewall is turned on?

January 28, 2017 - the problem still exists. A possible solution has been posted by Adobe here:

https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2234816

I have made the registry hack and *so far* it seems to have resolved the problem. YMMV. I sure wish AVG and Adobe could get their heads together and permanently resolve this problem. Very disappointed and frustrated.

Hello,

In November and December 2016 we had the same issue, after downloading the latest version of Photoshop. This version together with our AVG internet security subscription gave us many problems (mainly not being able to open gmail, Google analytics, etc), so that we decided to stop our Adobe subscription (although we still had to pay half a year).
But now we really want Adobe Photoshop back. So the question is: is the issue solved? Can we buy a Photoshop subscribtion again?
