AVG Firewall Causes 100% disc usage W10

I have recently experienced problems with W10 crashing and slow starting. This seems to be due to 100% Disc usage showing on Task Manager which can be cleared by turning AVG Automatic Firewall off.
I have it on Interactive Mode at the moment which is a pain but has also cleared the problem.
My Updates are all on auto and up to date.
Has anyone any thoughts on how to get the firewall back to automatic please?
Ian.

I have almost the same situation with AVG Internet Security (paid version) except because I lowered the Performance to a low setting, I get 65-75% disc usage on normal and high performance disc usage get up to 100% on my i5 8400. I have a seagate barracuda 1tb hybrid hdd with 6gb/sec 7200 rpm. My cpu usage and ram usage are very low also. Perhaps, cpu optimization and ram optimization is lacking for AVG products. I really do not know if increasing cpu or ram use instead of disc use could be possible. I only have AVG on my computer, no malwarebytes or windows defender running. Here is a screenshot. avg processes avgsvc.exe

Hello Jose.
According to the screenshot you shared, AVG services are using considerably low disk, Ram and CPU. This is normal behavior.
