AVG 2017 Command Line Scan

I cannot see how to run an AVG2017 scan from the Windows command line.  Is this even possible?  If so, what is the syntax?

AVG2016 as well as its predecessors had a command line scan capability.

Hello Michael,
Thank you for contacting us. Could you let us know whether it is in Normal mode or safe mode you are trying to start the scan?

I'm not trying to run the command line scan from safe mode.  I'm trying to run the command line scan from normal mode.  Is this possible in AVG2017?  If so, please list the syntax and options.

Hello, I am also interested in this. There used to be a command line executable avgscanx that we could use to do a command line scan of a file but I can't see that program anymore. Is there another way to do a command line scan with avg ?

Hello Michael,

We appreciate your patience in this matter.
Please be informed that command line scan is no longer available in the AVG Free.
It's only in paid versions and can be executed by opening CMD.exe as an administrator, navigating into AVG's program folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\Antivirus) and executing "ashCmd.exe". If "ashCmd.exe. /?" is ran, then help with all parameters is displayed.

Please feel free to contact us if you need any assistance.
