Unsubscribe

Like other correspondents on here I have received an email from AVG telling me of the automatic payment about to be taken to renew my subscription. I do not wish to renew and have followed all the instructions given in the email and on the "How to Cancel" page. None of this works. There is no Unsubscribe button anywhere, nor any Cancel Subscription button. I guess AVG hope you will be put off and just let the payment go through.

I do not wish to renew. Please can someone tell me how to unsubscribe.

Michael,

We are sorry, not to worry, we have cancelled the auto renewal of your AVG Internet Security unlimited program. however, we would like to inform you that the auto renewal cancellation will get applied only if we did before 45 days. Else, the current subscription will get charged and your next renewal will stop automatically.

No worries, In case, if you have been charged, please visit https://support.avg.com/RefundForm and fill in the refund form and submit it. Upon successful submission, our refund team will process your request and get back to you via email. Thank you!

By my calculation today is 45 days before the end of the period on 20th April, so will I be charged or not?

Hello Michael,
We understand your concern. Please be informed that automatic renewal will be charged only 15 days before the product expiration and you will receive the notification about the price and date of renewal 45 days before.
Thank you

Michael, As per the Ranjani Bakthavachalam (AVG Technologies) posting if you are charged you can claim a refund.

But why should I have to claim a refund? There is plenty of time to stop the payment, fully 30 days.

Hello Michael,
If you wish, you can use the AVG till expiry. Also we could see that the status of the renewal for AVG is in "UNPAID" Status so we suggest you to contact bank for better assistance.
Thank you. Joyson, AVG Customer Care.

Another example of the lack of concern from AVG about dissatisfaction with a product that is supposed to give peace of mind, then when you want to just stop it continuing you get glib answers.

Maybe you may recognise the problems I have been having, my thread appears under "General Discussion" like yours. The problems I have had came along with the irritating AVG pop ups that you complain of, please view this thread to see you are not alone, but you may not get any help from AVG.
