avg antivirus free with zone alarm firewall free conflict

running win 7, after updates for avg free antivirus, software conflict with zone alarm free firewall.  any suggestions for free firewall that will not conflict with avg free antivirus?

We understand your concern. You can add the Zone alarm firewall to AVG exception list and see if that fix this conflict issue. Please click on this link(http://avgclick.me/AddException) for the steps to add the program to AVG exception list.

Conflict is computer freezes--both on local use as well as on internet-unable to navigate or open new links after 1st link opens.  will adding zone alarm firewall to exception list prevent these problems?

Hi Howard,
We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused, we suggest you to disable AVG Anti-Virus free components and check the issue, we will help you according to that. Use the following instructions to disable AVG components : Open AVG Zen -> Click on Anti-Virus Free -> Click on "Menu" -> Settings -> Disable Computer and Web & Email protection component (Disable Until restart).
Please let us know if the issue still persists after AVG Anti-Virus free disable. Thank you

I have unistalled avg and the system works fine [i assume disable and uninstall do the same thing].  No problems with freeze or navigating the web.  Can I use AVG with Windows 7 defender without conflicts?

Hello Howard,
We do understand your concern. Yes you can use both AVG and windows 7 defender in your PC. These product will not conflict with each other.  Since windows defender is security software.  If you are facing any issues with AVG please let us know we are here to help you.

Howard, Windows Defender is an anti-malware component of Microsoft Windows. It was first released as a free antispyware program download for Windows XP, shipped with Windows Vista and Windows 7 and made into a full antivirus program replacing Microsoft Security Essentials as part of Windows 8 and later versions. It will conflict with AVG on Win 8 & 10.
