Oh, get real, AVG. This lastest change -- to "ZEN" -- has totally screwed the pooch, and you guys should know it by now.  This is as bad as the last major change you had to role back almost 10 years ago ... Your new version of the UI won't load, and all you have been doing is telling people to "Uninstall the old AVG" or use the AVG cleanup tool and THEN uninstall .. ad infinitum!

The only fix, until AVG updates their "update" that killed AVG on any XP machine, is to disable AVG.  Then your browser can again reach internet sites, etc etc.

Unfortunately, AVG is now leaving us unprotected -- and since we weren't warned that the new update would kill AVG on our systems (or kill our systems), I would bet that noone knew to keep the old version of AVG before it was too late.

SO, AVG -- instead of handing out continually useless help, when will you role back the "update" that has killed so many systems??

The answer by Tom makes most sense most solutions given have involved getting on the internet which I can't do.  Do not have time today but will try the safe mode solution tomorrow but this inconvenience of no pc when I need it to work from home is rediculous can't believe I paid AVG to muck my system up so royally
