AVG 2017 major disappointment

Browsing the Community pages I am discovering that many others are as frustrated as I am at the latest release of AVG.  With no warning, it was installed, and there are no instructions for how to use it.  It is not user friendly at all to schedule scans.  Even if I do a scan, it keeps saying Last Scan:  Never.  That does not give me any confidence.  I hope AVG fixes it, as I am a paying customer.  But I will definitely not renew my subscription when it comes time for that, the way the software is now.

I'm very much with you Madeline Foster. My patience and that of my wife is fast running out. This arrogant company and their "AVG Technologies" personnel are treating theit customers with total disdain.
The answer to your question is probably not true as I have two computers, which I rarely use other than for storage, which are both still running AVG Internet Security 2016 on my 2 year subscription. Their virus definitions are being updated correctly.
I suspect it's the Avast management trying to be clever. The update was obviously not ready for release.
Best of luck to all of us.....
Mike and Dottie.

Hello Madeline,
We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused.
Due to the arrival of new threats and infections, we have updated our AVG security program with high new security patches and updates to enhance the computer security.
The older version virus definitions were not up to date and you wont be able to have the complete protection without new updates. The new updates will be available only for AVG 2017 versions.
You can refer the below article to schedule the scan easily:

We also suggest you to send your valuable feedback to our developers who are working on it to improve the features of AVG in the link:

So that they can work on it and implement in future updates of AVG.
Thank you.

Hello Mike Phelan,
Thank you for your feedback. We do have two AVG versions. AVG 2017 version is for AVG unlimited products like AVG Internet security unlimited and AVG Tuneup unlimited. AVG 2016 version is for AVG Internet security license products. If you want to share any queries, please use the product feedback link provided by our agent in the previous post.
Thank you.

I used the same .exe file to install AVG Internet Security on 3 computers but only one of them has been updated to the awful 2017 version. Until now all of you have denied an extant AVG Internet Security 2016 so thank you for confirming its continuing use.
Now we come back to my original question - I want to uninstall the unsatisfactory AVG 2017 and replace it with the very good AVG Internet Security 2016. I really need you to tell me how to prevent the re-installation of the 2017 version.
I just can't find the files that need to be blocked to stop AVG 2017 from being installed again.
I have already used the product feedback link but, as you probably know, it does not feed back to me.
Please help.

Mike, There's no option to downgrade to 2016 (https://support.avg.com/answers?id=906b0000000Dl1FAAS).
