Customised firewall control on each individual program

Will AVG fix this problem and put customized control of individual program access that was available as a feature of firewall settings on previous versions or not? I think that’s what customers want to know. AVG has not answered this question directly.

Hello Aloua,
We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused. Since we updated to 2017 version, the Firewall doesn't have a separate feature to add, block & allow a individual program as like the previous version. However, we've escalated this to our developers who would look into it and add the features in our upcoming updates. We really appreciate your patience. You can use the Packet rules & network profile settings to fix the conflict issues. Feel free to let us know if you require further assistance. Thank you.

Hello Martin,
Unfortunately there has been no time frame specified for this Outage but our developers are working on it. So it will be fixed as soon as possible in upcoming updates.
Thank you!

If AVG engineers wanted it to happen it would have happened already. In fact, they don’t need to do anything. They have the code from the previous version which is basically the same as this one but they just disabled those components. The interface is really nothing as we all know. The update is mostly to get rid of AVG pirated versions. I mean those that have the previous version is working fine so they could have allowed up to reinstall that. This is more like an authoritative pressure on customers to give up their rights on what they want. But then CIA/NASA/SVR RF/GCHQ pays better. I agree if it’s for our security but our needs are not met.

Hello Aloua,

We would like to inform you that on AVG 2017 the option for allow and blocking applications is available.
Please open the AVG user interface, click on "Menu-->Settings-->Components"
To the right scroll down for Firewall and click on the arrow mark that is on the right side.
In the drop down you can find the option as "Application rules"
From there you can choose the application and allow or block the internet connection for that application.

All my "Application rules" just disappeared. I didn't do anything on AVG. Internet went off as I put "block" to be the default rule. Can someone tell me why this is happening and can I get my rules back?
