AVG folder cant be removed after uninstall

Hi there,
I uninstalled AVG Free recently. During the uninstallation, a message popped up saying that I need the permission from the Administrator( I'm the administrator of my computer).

The installation continued but there is one problem: In the folder "ProgramData", there a folder named "Avg", I can't remove it, 'cause it this folder that caused the message that showed up earlier, but like I said before, I'm the adminstrator of my laptop!!!

I even used the AVG remover tool, my pc is a 32bit, so I used the 32bit one, but still, I doesn't removed that folder, even the tool didn't have the right to remove it from my laptop!!!!!!!!!!

How can I remove it completely, I even tried to give myself the full control of that folder "Avg", but, an error happened each time when I given myself full control to it. Even FileAssasin from MalwareByte and UinstallTool couldn't remove it. My laptop operating system is a windows 10 Pro 32bit Os  /  64x Based Processor

So please, can someone can help me for this!!!

Hi Jair,
We're really sorry to hear that you're unable to remove the AVG folder. We suggest you to reboot your computer in Safe Mode : http://avgclick.me/rebootintosafemode and remove all the AVG folders manually. Please follow the below steps to remove AVG manually :
1. Please check the date and time of the your computer.
2. Download and run the AVG Clear tool : https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe. This tool helps remove AVG 2017 and its residual files.
3. Go to Run window (press Windows Key and R Key simultaneously) and type “Temp” and remove all the files.

4. Go to Run window and type “%temp%” and remove all the files.
5. Go to Run window and type %appdata% - Remove all the AVG folders.
6. Go to Run window and type %programdata% - Open the AVG folder and remove the old files.
7. Please go to C: Drive> Program files and delete the AVG files, now run the AVG remover tool http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe again.
8. After reboot, go to the C: Drive where you have the "AVG Remover" file, select that and press SHIFT + Delete key to remove completely.

Thank you!

Would still get avg trying to access the internet, found out by using netlimiter. Common.log.lock-the file that I couldn't get rid of deeper in an avg file. Safe mode deleted, reappeared after normal boot. Your file remover got rid of it, somehow it was tied to my system using process explorer to find related stuff. Used to love AVG back in the early 2000s, recommended it to everyone, and installed on any device I set up, now just a pop-up cancer like many of your peers.

I would like to say a big thank you to Akash Chanda for his post above, which I fortunately came across via a search for how to resolve the same problem as was originally posted here by Jair.
For interest of anyone looking for the same information - I've been struggling for 2 or 3 weeks now after an update of AVG Internet Security on my laptop, when everything went wrong with the application (to cut a long story short!). I had attempted to uninstall it with intention of running the avg clear tool, then reinstalling. However it did not go to plan and like Jair, I could not get rid of it no matter what. During this time I have also had two remote sessions with AVG technical support attempting to do the same, and they also were unsuccessful in not only trying to use the "avg clear" tool, but also manual methods. In fact they had abandoned it - which is evident from an email I received this week offering me a
refund.
Today I have followed carefully the instructions posted above by Akash, and used the Remover Tool he has given the link for. My goodness - why don't all AVG technicians advise the same instead of the "avg clear" tool which did not work.

Right now though, after all the trouble I've experienced, I am now considering whether not to reinstall
AVG Internet Security and accept the refund offered - big decision!
But thank you Akash. My laptop is good now!

Hi Carole,

This isn't the experience we want you to have. We're sorry to know that you've decided to cancel the AVG subscription.
If you reconsider using AVG, feel free to reach us. Appreciate your efforts in working towards fixing the issue.
However, we'd like to clarify that the usage of removal tools such as AVG Clear & AVG Remover depends upon the version of AVG that is installed on your computer.
Thank you for reaching us. Have a great day. Stay safe!

Hello Dinesh,
I hadn't then yet decided to cancel my subscription, I was still considering what to do at the time of my last message above. After consideration and having been an AVG customer for a lot of years with no previous complaints, and now I know the correct method for removing it if it became corrupted again - I decided to re-install the Internet Security application and give it another chance.
So far, very good. Big improvement from what I'd been experiencing over the previous couple of weeks. I will reply to the AVG person who emailed me offering the refund and direct them to this message thread and Akash Chanda's correct instructions - so that hopefully other technicians will advise and use the same process in the future for removing AVG traces when needed.

Many thanks.
