AVG Ultimate Installation and Activation problems

I was using AVG Antivirus Free and then purchase AVG PC TuneUp.  That installed fine.  I then accepted an offer to upgrade to AVG Ultimate, and my account page clearly shows I have both AVG Ultimate (no license number, just download links) and AVG PC TuneUp (license number) subscriptions running until May and March 2018 respectively.

I downloaded and installed AVG Ultimate - to do this I had to use AVG Remover and AVG Reset Access to avoid getting an error message on installation.  AVG Ultimate is now installed, but it shows I am using AVG Antivirus Free and am on a 30 day trial period for AVG PC TuneUp.  I cannot active PC TuneUp using the license number because there is no option within the AVG PC TuneUP help menu to activate or register the product.  Despite saying clearly within the UI that I am looking at AVG PC TuneUp, when I click on the Buy Now button it takes me to a page for AVG TuneUp - Unlimited, which I see from another post is a different product again - despite the fact that it clearly says beside my AVG Ultimate purchase that I get unlimited downloads of AVG PC TuneUp.  Trying to install AVG PC TuneUp from the download link beside the AVG PC TuneUp product link on my account page (as opposed to the link under the AVG Ultimate listing on my account page) doesn't work because it finds AVG Ultimate already on my system and says the two products are incompatible.

So my issue is that I have paid for AVG Ultimate, seem to have gained nothing in terms of Internet Security and at the same time lost my subscription access to AVG PC TuneUp.  

Suggestions welcome.  

And my recommendation to AVG is you really have to sort out your activation and separate product offerings.  This should be seamless if you're going to try and make a success of moving people from your free offering.

We truly apologize for the inconvenience caused. The AVG program you have purchased doesn't have a license number and it can be activated using the email address of your AVG account.  We request you to follow the instructions to remove the existing program and to install AVG Ultimate which has both Internet Security and PC Tuneup for Unlimited devices.

1. Download and run the AVG Clear tool : https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe.
2. Click No in the Windows safe mode dialog, select AVG Zen and click Uninstall.
3. After restart, download and run AVG Remover http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe to remove all AVG products.
4. Open AVG_Remover.exe, Click CONTINUE and select all that appears.
5. Restart the PC and install the AVG Ultimate from the link: http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Ultimate_1827.exe

Thank you for the quick response.  I've done all that.  AVG Clear removed AVG Internet Security and AVG Antivirus Free and Zen.  AVG Remover removed AVG PC TuneUP.  Installed AVG Ultimate as per the link (I note that this file ended 1827 whereas the one I download from within my account ends 761).

Not that any of it matters though because I still have the exact same problem as I had before.  See screenshots below.  I can see my email address and other linked computers on the Zen page, so it has connected to my account.

Yippee.  It works.  I didn't actually even have to Log out from the AVG Interface.  When I came back to my computer AVG was asking me to restart my computer, which I did, and then when it started up again and I opened AVG it now says I am fully protected under AVG Internet Security and no longer on a trial for AVG PC TuneUp.  Thank you.

Hi can someone please fix my account as im having a similar problem, I have avg ultimate and for no reason pc tune suddenlt says my trial has expired. I tried the suggestion above to run the avg clean and remover tools. reinstalled avg ultimate now it says both avg and pctune are trial versions. please can someone fix my account
