Cannot Uninstall AVG Free

I am on Windows 10 and AVG is bogging down my PC. I have tried for hours to uninstall it, with no luck. Despite using the uninstaller twice, and attempting to delete the files from my C drive, it is still using up resources. After using the uninstaller, my PC restarts as it should, and then I am supposed to be able to delete the files, but get an error code saying that I need administrator permission to delete them. There is only one account on my PC and it is set to be an administrator. AVG still runs in the background despite using the uninstaller. How can I get rid of this? I am about to factory reset my PC to get rid of it, but I wondered if anyone knew of a more convenient resolution?

Hello Ayy,
I am sorry to hear that you are unable to uninstall AVG from your PC. Please run AVG Clear tool to remove AVG traces using the below instructions:
1. Use the link https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe to run the AVG Clear tool.
2. Open the AVG Clear tool, click Yes in the User Account control dialog.
3. Click No in the Windows safe mode dialog.
4. Select the installed version of AVG and also check the box 'Uninstall AVG Zen'. Then click Uninstall, and Restart computer.
Please share the screenshot, if you still find the traces so that we will check and assist you better.

Thank you for the quick reply. That does seem to have worked. However, now upon launch I am always greeted with a screen asking me to choose an operating system. There is Windows 10 and AVG Antivirus Clear Uninstall. How do I remove that now? Thank you in advnace once again.

I have the same problem as explained by Ayy Imao. I have AVG Antivirus 18.4.3056 installed on my pc and that too happened without my knowledge somehow. I tried uninstalling it in various ways. There is no uninstall file. I tried AVG remover tool and AVG Antivirus Clear. The remover tool doesn't detect the product while the antivirus clear doesn't even get started. When I try to delete the file, it asks for administrative permission, which I have but it still asks. So I'm totally helpless here. Please advise a solution for this.
