Pankaj Explorer AVG Antivirus Free: Automatically Scan USB n Removable Devices
Hey all,
I have installed latest AVG Antivirus Free and updated all the Virus Definition as well as updated with latest user interface. But I am missing one feature AVG Antivirus Free to Scan Automatically USB and Removable Devices as soon as it is plugged in to the Computer/Laptop.
I know it very well that earlier this feature, of Automatically Scan USB and Removable Devices as soon as it is plugged, was available in AVG Antivirus Free Edition.
Hope this can be made available soon.
I completely understand your concern. With AVG 2017 only "auto-run" related files are scanned with this scan type automatically and not the whole drive. So, if there is any virus/threat in your USB/removal disk AVG will detect them automatically when you insert your USB Drive or you can manually scan your USB Drive.
If you have any "autorun" file in your USB, please follow this article https://help.avg.com/en/avg_free/17/settings_sh_std_on_exec.html to scan on removable media devices when the removal device is attached. Also, we have forwarded this issue to our product management team and they are working on this.

in the forthcoming user interface of AVG Antivirus FREE.
I completely understand your concern but we are working on a major update to implement the feature that you requested and other options that were requested by few customers.
This process will take time but we assure you that this will be done as soon as possible.
We are planning to provide the 2017 version with the complete options that was requested, hence every customers are satisfied with it.
