Karon Brown Why so many problems with AVG
I've had nothing but problems with AVG Antivirus starting several months ago. My hard drive activity spiked and now it takes 15 minutes after a restart until it settles down. I constantly get an error with some aswids...exe file. Found references to it being an AVG problem. Computer became unusable! Went through the AVG Remover process and steps found on this forum. Installed a new version( as Admin) from the full downloads page. After an installation confirmation screen appeared I didn't see any AVG icons on the screen or in Programs. I logged out and logged back in as another user. Still nothing. Reinstalled again. Then the icon appeared.
A. Why do I have to be connected to the internet when installing from a full download file (282 MB)?
The whole point is not to be on the internet while unprotected. That's why I downloaded the file using a protected computer.
B. Why does AVG kill my computer's performance?
C. Your constant pop-ups trying to scare people into upgrading are pathetic and annoying.
D. Why do so many people (me included) discover that the support help is useless.
E. AVG used to be respected, Award winning. Not any more. I'm very disappointed. 6 hours of my day have been wasted trying to fix the problems with AVG.

I am really sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please be informed that, if you have downloaded an offline installer setup file then no need for Internet connection to install AVG. However, to update the program we need the Internet connection.
AVG doesn't kill the performance of the computer unless if you have any conflicting software's installed in your PC. Please check if you installed any other Antivirus or performance program on your computer.
Popup can be either campaign or expiry popups. The expiry popup message appears when AVG program gets expired. If you have installed an expired program, please uninstall it from the control panel.
