Did you get this threat detected by AVG Antivirus?

I am getting the same warning today. Can't get rid of it and it seems it has infected my outlook.exe file so I can't access my emails. Any help?

I have the same problem.  It seems to launch as soon as I open Thunderbird.  After that multiple AVG pop-ups occur stating that the Threat has been secured, even after Thunderbird has been closed.  However AVG pop-ups continue to appear several times apparently not solving the problem.  Performing a whole computer scan with AVG does not find any problems!  This is causing a lot of difficulty for me.  Can AVG get rid of this Java:Malware-gen [Trj] problem?

Hi Dina & Steve,
Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. We have already submitted diagnostic logs to our developers. They are working on a fix and it should be available at the earliest.

Having the same issue here with my partners' computer. When opening Outlook and pressing send/receive the same message appears with the warning box, and the only way to make it stop is to restart the computer and not open Outlook.

I've done a full format and re-install of the complete OS and all software but the moment we try to send/receive the same thing appears. Also completely removed all the data pst files thinking there was something within those files but having the same problem again.

I am having the same problem. It started a few weeks ago. I succeeded in gaining a few quiet days by repairing Office 365. But the "threats" are back, with gusto. I know I'm receiving spam with attachments, and will soon close a couple of accounts that are clearly targetted.

Any luck with a fix yet? This is so annoying.

Hello Lloyd,

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. I am glad to help you.  I can understand how difficult this is for you. The displayed information is confusing as the message says "We've safely locked this file in your quarantine." however no file is later available in the quarantine. The issue is with the message and not with the detection itself as downloaded file is detected and blocked before it is saved to the computer - this is the reason for not showing in the quarantine.
The detected file is the threat but the message shown as moved to quarantine is incorrect.

Please do not worry, this is a known issue and has already escalated to the concerned team. To fix this issue at the earliest, we need the diagnostic information from your computer. I have sent you an email, please follow the instructions to analyze the situation and provide you with a solution.

We will fix this threat message moved to quarantine as soon as possible and guarantee that you will get an update once the issue is resolved.
