Overplay DNS and AVG

Hello - I have a problem with Overplays Smart DNS - they blame it on AVG and I need to know where I can find the settings menu for components and DNS in the free AVG download.  Overplay advise the following:  Can you help me?

Avast! Security Suite / AVG Internet Security and OverPlay SmartDNS

If you are using Avast! Antivirus, Security Suite 2015 (or newer), or  AVG Internet Security, or have recently upgraded to the 2015 (or newer) version, and OverPlay SmartDNS is not working, please review this guide.

A  feature called Secure DNS is bundled with Avast and AVG.  This feature is enabled by default when the program is installed.  Secure DNS replaces your DNS setting with the Avast's DNS server.  The aim is to secure your DNS however, this prevents OverPlay SmartDNS from working.

Solution: Disable Secure DNS (Also know as "Real Site")

Avast:

  1. Open the Avast user interface and click Settings.
  2. Select Components, then click the slider next to Real Site and select a listed time duration.
  3. Click Yes to confirm that you are disabling Real Site intentionally.

Hello Tracky,
Sorry to hear about this .Please uninstall and reinstall Secure DNS component in AVG Internet Security by going to AVG->Internet Security->Menu->Settings->Component->down arrow next to Secure DNS component->Uninstall component. Then reinstall it and check if Overplay DNS works fine.
If the issue persists, please open Open AVG  -> Internet Security -> Menu -> Settings -> Components -> Firewall -> Customize -> Network Profiles -> change the network profiles from Public to Private and click OK to save changes. Then again go to Firewall-> Customize->System Rules->Enable the 'Allow windows file and printer sharing' and also enable the 'Allow remote desktop connections to this computer'. Then click OK to save changes.
Thank you.
