Acrobat Reader DC Constant Login

I recently upgraded to AVG Ultimate and I'm regretting it. First I had an issue with my wireless printer - I had to reformat my entire PC to get it working again. AVG messed up some file and the only way I could figure to get things back in working order was to start fresh. That's done now though. I fixed that.

NOW my issue is that AVG is constantly signing me out of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Pro. I pay for that as well and having to sign in every single time I open a file is driving me crazy. I know it's AVG too because I've disabled AVG temporarily and run Acrobat Reader and it didn't ask me to sign in once.

I've tried creating exceptions in the AVG settings but nothing seems to help. I just want to stay signed in at all times. I can't take it anymore. It's affecting my work.

Please help.

Hello Tom,

I understand the inconvenience.
Please provide the screenshot of the sign in window that you get while accessing Adobe files which will help us to assist further.
To take a screenshot please follow the instructions mentioned in this link: http://avgread.me/1aZxsAV and attach the image to this post.
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

This is the window that pops up every single time I open a PDF. I click "License this Software" (because I have a license and it just keeps signing me out apparently). Then a new window pops up. I click "Sign In". Then "Continue" when the final window pops up.

Having to go through a 3 window sign in process every time I open a file is ridiculous. I find myself just disabling AVG so I can get some work done. As you can see in the 4th image I have created exceptions for any folder relating to Adobe. It hasn't helped.

Thank you for providing the screenshot.
This is actually weird that the screen appears for Adobe is asking for a sign in and it wasn't detected as threat by AVG.
Only if the application is detected as threat by AVG you can try adding it to exception.
Please open AVG Internet Security dashboard and click on "Menu-->Ransomware Protection"
On the blocked list check whether Adobe is listed, if yes, please remove it from block list and add it to whitelist.
Keep us informed about the status.

My block list is empty.

But, yea, it never said Adobe was a threat. I just was trying anything to fix it. I thought if it was in the list of exceptions it wouldn't bother me about adobe anymore.

AVG actually isn't giving me any messages at all. It's not telling me adobe is bad. AVG isn't telling me it's signing me out of Adobe. I would not know AVG was behind it if it wasn't for me signing out of AVG and having that fix the problem.

Tom,

I understand this must be upsetting and I really appreciated your efforts so far. I have sent you an email, please follow the email instructions to get in touch with the remote support. They will analyze the issue with AVG and fix it with free of cost.
Tom CTom C
Thank you for the offer but I'm not interested in downloading files to my PC that allow someone access to it.

If you don't know what the problem is (and I'm not blaming you) I'll just switch to another virus protection software. It's not an ideal solution - I've been with AVG for over 10 years. But this "Ultimate" package was expensive and caused me nothing but problems. I had to reformat my computer once already and now it won't let me use a very common and trusted software.

Thanks anyway.

Tom, I understand you are not willing to give access to a remote connection, but remote support is provided by AVG Customer Care as an alternative to standard email, chat or phone support. It is typically offered for issues that are best solved by an agent accessing your computer over the Internet. You can see everything the agent does on your computer, you can chat with him or take back full control of your computer at any time. Once the session is finished, the agent (or anyone else) cannot connect to you again unless you request a new session.

I would suggest you to change the Firewall settings : Open AVG Zen -> Internet Security -> Click on Menu in the top right corner -> Settings -> Components -> Firewall -> Customize -> Network Profiles -> Change the networks from Public to Private. If that didn't help, please disable each component (AVG > Menu > Settings> Components) and check if the Adobe is working fine.

I'm fine with standard email, chat, or phone support. I don't want anyone else in my computer. I'm not comfortable with downloading files that allow access to my computer - then they stay in there even though I only need it once. I'm not going to do that. Thank you for offering.

I changed the firewall settings to Private but that didn't help either.

Tom,
I would like to assure you that AVG remote support does not work like that. The remote control applet does not get installed on your computer, it will run temporarily during the session. No more connections can be established to your PC (unless you allow) after you disconnect a session.

Anyway, to proceed further, I would request you to disable each component of AVG to verify upon disabling which component the issue is resolved.
Please open AVG Internet Security, click on Menu->Settings->Components and toggle the On/Off slider to disable each component.

It appears to be Resident Shield that's causing the problem. But I'm not 100% sure. I tried the suggested turning my networks from public to private and that seemed to fix it but it was just delaying the sign in message - instead of popping up immediately it started popping up 5-10 minutes into using the Adobe Software.

I disabled Resident Shield and fiddled around with Adobe for 30-45 minutes and it didn't come on. I turned Resident Shield back on and within 2 minutes the sign in window came back. So it looks like Resident Shield is causing the problem. It could be one of the other components but for now do you want to try creating an exception in Resident Shield? Think that will fix it?

Tom,
I appreciate your efforts in trying to fix the issue.
Since the Sign In Page appears after enabling the Resident Shield, I think an Exceptions is necessary in this case.
I suggest you monitor for a couple of days and get back to us if the issue still persists.

I appreciate the help.

Unfortunately, the sign in pop up window started up again. Immediately after opening a file. Whatever was delaying it yesterday has stopped and now they've started pretty much immediately again.

I tried disabling each component. They kept coming. After seeing that disabling one didn't work I would re-enable it and then disable another. So, maybe it's a matter of disabling a combination of components? I don't know.

Tom,
In this case, I suggest you to try to Add the Exceptions in Resident Shield and check if that fixes the issue.
