Problems with Internet security

I have for a few years been running AVG antivirus free version and with recent updates it is now Internet security.  With a recent update it blocked my home network so I could not transfer data from one PC to the other. I cured the problem by turning off the Enhanced Firewall.  Is there any way I can either uninstall Internet Security leaving just the Antivirus or can I uninstall the whole thing then reinstall Antivirus on it's own.  Or is there another method that I can use?

Hello,
I regret for the inconvenience this may have caused to you. Please check if AVG firewall is configured with below recommended settings or not.

Open AVG Internet Security->Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->Network Profile and change it to Private.
Open AVG Internet Security->Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->Policies->System Rules and set all rules to "Enabled".

Make sure the above settings are applied and let us know if the issue persist.

I know it's a few weeks since I solved this problem  but in 6 days my free internet security expires on one of my PCs and has expired on the other..  How will this affect my PCs as I am not upgrading because I only use the Free Anti Virus?

You can use the free version of AVG antivirus once your subscription is expired.
