Buyer Beware: unwanted popup ads even in the paid version of AVG

Buyer Beware: you'll get unwanted popup ads even in the paid version of AVG.

If you consider upgrading to paid version in order to get rid of the unwanted popup ads from AVG, then NO NOT DO IT.

Uninstall AVG and choose Avira, Avast or 360 Total Security.

See this thread for hundreds of unwanted popup ad complaints: https://support.avg.com/answers?id=906b0000000DA01AAG

...then they can see, that this answer is a canned answer with an empty promise, because you have answered the same thing one year ago. So AVG does not want to stop these annoying popup ads.

AVG interrupts us many times a day during our work with their unwanted popups.  I don't believe that if you are really "working on this" like you said, because your programmers can surely switch these ads off with ONE YEAR of hard work.  Because you have known about this complaint since last year, as the link above clearly shows that.

Justin, these popups aren't internet popups. These popups are WITHIN the AVG application, and they keep popping up on your screen when you watch movies or work.  So no popup blocker app can stop these unwanted AVG ad popups. They are embedded into the AVG software, and they pop up even when you are a paying customer of AVG.

The staff of AVG says that you can disable these popups in the settings menu, but it is a lie. As you can see on this support thread, even if you disable popup options in the settings menu, they STILL DO POP UP, unstoppable:

Still no news from AVG representatives about letting the users disable popups?

It's been promised for over a year now. That's really an empty promise from AVG.

Hello?  Nobody from AVG can answer this simple question?

Hi John,

I have a good news for you. Changes related to our marketing campaigns (users will be able to change the occurrence rate) are prepared and will be released in one of the upcoming program updates.

Regards,

After reading a lot of posts (and some solutions) I'm dissapointed! The solutions offered from AVG isn't there... I do not have the option to "delay" in-app for three days! Is the "solution" a hoax??

Four years after the complaints above regarding AVG popups attempting to upsell their products it seems the AGV team must still be "working on it" as the popups are as bad as ever. We have the AVG Ultimate product which you would expect to include everything but it doesnt. I am getting regular popups that indicate that my PC is being slowed down with a list of fixes... would I like to fix them - yes,
here are your pricing options!
I am going to do my research now on PC protection packages and when our subscription is up, we will be moving away from AVG as it seems that four years is not long enough to address the complaints of their customers, so there is little hope that my complaint will have an impact.
