AVG firewall is blocking my printer/scanner - how do i fix this issue?
The AVG firewall is blocking me printing to my wireless printer and I cannot scan from my printer to my pc either. I cannot see in the firewall settings any function to allow printing/scanning like there was in the previous version
Sergio, Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern. I suggest you to change the firewall network profile from "Public" to "Private" and check if that fixes the issue. To change this settings, please open the AVG Internet Security and click on Menu>Settings>Components>Firewall>Customize>Network profile.
Also, please Enable all the System Rules under Menu>Settings>Components>Firewall>Customize>Policies.
I have exactly the same problem......HP Envy 5000 series printer.....recognises my partners printer, model up from mine, but not mine WHICH i am logged in to....... go figure!!! I have had nothing but problems with AVG........thinking of droppoing it and going elsewhere.......sick of poor customer service and no product NOT to mention the being given the "run around" !!
Did you configure the Firewall settings as per the recommendation? 1, Open AVG Internet Security and click the Hacker Attacks tile. 2, Click Firewall options ▸ Network profiles - Change all the Networks to "Private" - Click OK to confirm it.
1, Open the AVG Internet Security user interface and click the Hacker Attacks tile. 2, Click Settings (the gear icon) in the top-right corner. 3, Enable the "Internet connection sharing mode". 4, Click on System Rules - Enable the "Allow File and Printer sharing" and "Allow remote desktop connections to this computer" - Click OK to confirm it. Please make sure all the tasks are enabled.
We're sorry to hear that the issue still persists, Lisa.
