AVG Tune Up Thorough Scan stall

I ran the thorough scan on AVG Tune up.  At 10% it went unresponsive.  My computer was frozen.  Had to pull the power cord out to restart.  I found a helpful response on AVG Tech Support page.  My question is if this happens so frequently that you have a detailed "how to fix" page, why don't you fix the issue instead?? Luckily I had another device so could look up the fix on the web.  My computer was locked up for 2 hours before I fixed it! I will NEVER run a scan again.

AVG is aware that when running Disk Scan many people experience a fail.  AVG helpfully posts a fix, namely restart computer and run checkdisk_mod.exe
My point was if you know that ScanDisk often fails and requires this fix, why don't you fix the error in Scan Disk so it works?

Wendy, thank you for writing back.
Please note that this issue arise only in some cases where you select thorough analysis of hard disk for errors but not every time. Anyway, we are glad to see that your issue is resolved now. Please, feel free to let us know if you require any further assistance. Thank you.
