Netflix wont play

AVG just updated and now Netflix wont play- here's what its saying... HELP

Whoops...
Missing Component
We cannot find all the required components to play Netflix on this device. Please visit chrome://components, locate the WidevineCdm component, and click the "check for update" button.

Netflix Playback Error M7357-1003

If you get the error code M7357-1003 on your computer, it typically points to a component on your browser that needs to be updated or that is being blocked by a security setting or program on your computer. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue.

i actually followed all the steps, but when it came to the last one which had to do with "do you have anti-virus installed?"  i don't know how to resolve this other than disabling my avg.

Sometimes anti-virus software such as Webroot, Kaspersky, Immunet, or Intego VirusBarrier can interfere with the player Netflix uses to play movies and TV shows.

  • Disable your anti-virus software and play your movie or TV show again.
  • If a movie or TV show resumes after disabling your anti-virus software, this may indicate that the software could be outdated or unintentionally preventing the Netflix service from playing.

If you continue to see the error, there may be additional configuration settings within your browser settings preventing you from watching a movie or TV show. While trying to watch from a different browser you may not see these specific configuration issues. Please reach out to your anti-virus software manufacturer or a trusted IT professional for assistance with these issues.

Hello Jessika,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused.
As we understand you are unable to view videos on Netfix after updating AVG Program, is that right?
Are you able to view the videos while disabling AVG Program?
Are you seeing an error in Netflix when trying to watch a show in Chrome on Windows?
Thank you.

Hello Jessika,
It is to keep you informed that since the issue persists even after disabling the AVG program it clearly shows there might be certain issues with the Netflix website. Please try to use the Netflix website on different browser and if you still suspect AVG program has blocked the website please try to repair the AVG program and check if it resolves the issue. Please follow the instructions on the article avgclick.me/RepairAVG to repair the AVG program.

AVG support,
This issue is happening with me and presented in the exact same way that it did for Jessica.  I was able to use Netflix until the AVG update installed.  Although I understand your reasons for suggesting that Netflix may be to blame, this seems fairly unlikely given that Jessika, myself, and others (https://support.avg.com/answers?id=906b0000000D4L5AAK) experienced this problem only after installing an AVG update.  It is possible that your update did something to our systems that prevents Netflix from playing even when AVG is disabled.  Look into this and get back to us,

-Matt

Hello Matthew,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
It is possible for AVG update to block an application but it won't block the application when the AVG is disabled.
So in your case if AVG is disabled and if the issue still persists then the problem is not caused by AVG.

I had this issue after updating too, but only when I tried playing Netflix on Chrome.

I fixed it by uninstalling AVG Internet Search in my Control Panel and resetting my PC.  Now Netflix works fine.

I've already fixed it.  Jessika's problem looks to be the same as mine was.

Netflix should work if you go to your control panel and uninstall the AVG Safe Search program and restart your PC.  At least it did for me.

It's nothing to do with the actual AVG or AVG Protection programs, just the AVG Internet Search program which is why temporarily disabling AVG doesn't fix the problem.
