McAfee

Recently I got notice that McAfee Security Scan has been added to my computer. I may have been downloaded automatically with and update of an Adobe product. The bad thing is I can't remove it. If I use the suggestions on the internet and go to the control panel and remove the product, its says that the uninstaller has failed. Also, it lists that there is and uninstaller there but when you try to use it, it also says that it fails. What does this do and will it affect my computer adversely? I have Windows Vista Home Basic and AVG Internet Security and Tune Up.

Martin, Does your McAfee Security Scan provide actual real-time residential protection on your system which could conflict with AVG or does it have to be manually activated to carry out a scan?.

I don't know....I have only seen it show up once automatically and tell me that there are issues on my machine and to fix them I will have to buy the product. Is it just nuisance software or something sinister.
