Have the same issue as Bart and have examined articles.  Downloaded latest updates from Windows (using Windows 7 Pro) wiped out McAfee which came preloaded.  I also get an additional message of 3rd party redistributables failed.  I uninstalled MS Visual 2010x64 and reinstalled with SP1. When I saved error log there was just one item it was msi-20150ll blocked.  Just waited 17 minutes on hold after using the NEW customer support form referred to in previous posts.  It just disconnected me. Once you complete the form and submit it simply takes you back to the log in page.  AVG has had a very good rep in times past.  What happened.  When I called NIMFA in India, her offer was to charge me $24.99 to sit back and relax while expert installs it remotely.  When I asked was anyone there who could simply answer a tech question since I called tech support, she gave me a link to the customer support form and abruptly ended the chat.  I was not rude or ill mannered in any way, but when I did not want to spend $24.99 more, that was the end of my tech support.  Come on Kim Kommando, where are you when we need you.

Hi Marianne,
In order to analyze it please provide us with diagnostic output (gather it right after inducing issue) using this tool and please add detailed description of issue.
Thanks
