bob bobbles avg free installation gets stuck at 73%
trying to install avg free on my windows 10 PC. it gets stuck while installing files, usually on 73%. i've tried this method which i found on another post:

followed the steps exactly and still the same result...

We apologize for the Inconvenience caused to you. In order to install the AVG free Antivirus please follow the below steps.
If you have any other Antivirus other than AVG please uninstall it from the control panel.
If not please run the AVG clear tool tool to remove the AVG traces: https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe
After running the AVG clear tool please restart the PC and start with the installation of AVG free Antivirus using below link.

I am experiencing the same problem and the above advice does not solve it for me. I have a machine with windows 10 home with the latest updates installed. Could you please advise if there is an alternative fix, or new version of AVG free that will install properly?

Please run the removal tools mentioned in this article https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product. These tools will help us to remove AVG traces completely from your computer. Once uninstalled, please download the offline installer (64 or 32 bit OS) links https://www.avg.com/en-us/download.prd-gsr-free and install AVG Free.
