Unable to add invitation code to AVG Android

Hi,
I bought AVG Internet Security for me and my family a few months back.  I've added a couple of PCs and family Android phones to my Zen collection.

I've just upgraded my phone and sent myself an invitation via email.  The install instructions in the email say to download the AVG free app to my phone and enter the invitation code.  I can't find the option to add the invitation code in the AVG free app any more - it used to be there.

What's changed and how do I now get full protection on my Android phone using my invitation code?

Thanks, Steve.

I have this problem as well.  Its because you are running the latest version of avg which is now a bastardised version of Avast Mobile Security.  There is no option to enter a code.  You need to login with your email address and password through the app on each phone you install it on.

Zen is pretty useless now

Hello Abirami,

Instead of sending people to your support desk resolve this issue.

Your support team is not going to be able to help ALL customer that purchased ZEN / ULTIMATE because on EACH device that is updated you need to enter login or invitation code again.

So you are asking YOUR customer to contact support for each device we are using?

The fact is that AVG has removed invitation code from AVG for ANdroid.

AVG cleaner FREE still has the option but doesn't accept any VALID invitation code anymore.

So has AVG (or new owner) revoked our LICENSES for ZEN/ULTIMATE?  Because that will costs them more money than what they have paid for AVG  (I hear class actions...)

Please forward this message to your upper management because you are  harassing PAYING CUSTOMERS!!!

Hello Steve, Anthony & Gerrie,
Please accept my apologies with regards to the inconvenience this may have caused. I would like to inform you that AVG Zen app has been discontinued for Android platform in which there will be an option to activate using an invitation code. The new version of AVG app for android can be activated by logging into AVG app using your MyAccount email address and password.

Please find the steps below to activate Pro features in new version of AVG android app:

1.Locate and install the free version of the app.
2. Now open the installed app.
3. Tap on drawer (3 lines) on top-left of the app.
4. Select AVG Account.
5. Enter your My Account email address and password.

The paid app should get installed automatically. In case of difficulties or error, please get in touch with our dedicated android support team who will be glad to assist you.

Avinash, it is EXTREMELY irritating that the remedy for INVITED devices is to put in one's username and password, when AVG's own invite emails refer to the Invitation Code.  Why should my daughter's device require MY username and password. This is NOT what I bought with AVG Ultimate.   Please escalate this yourself to the AVG development team to fix the problem and push updates to Android devices/ fix the app that downloads from Google Play to once again include the Invitation Code field.

I agree, why send an email with an invitation code if we can't use it!

Geoffrey, please be informed that in the recent update, the Zen interface was removed from AVG apps on Android device.
Hence, it is not possible to enter an invitation code and activate AVG subscription on Android device. You can send the invitation code from the Admin PC to all Windows PC's but right now it is not recommended to send an invitation code for an Android device.

Dear AVG,
the whole idea with the ZEN interface is that there is 1 master and the rest are slaves - giving so much more security.
That is now gone if one has to log on with the admin account on all devices.
I thought AVG was a synonym for SECURITY but seems, with the latest updates, that I am wrong now.
My reply to AVG support is this:
in that case AVG just lost a long time customer and I will be unable to recommend AVG anymore, I am sorry !
AVG did not even have the decency to tell us paying customers about the change, this is just not good enough!
BYE BYE guys!!!

Struggling with non-AVG technology? We can fix that, too!
