Erick Pomada Two AVG Shortcut On Desktop

I have some question I'm using AVG Free, recently I update my avg to 17.8.3036 version, after update to version 3036 I restart my pc
After restart I see that avg has created another shortcut on my desktop. One shortcut was the shortcut that I get when I first install avg on october (shortcut name AVG located on C:\Program Files\AVG\Framework\Common\avguix.exe) and the other shortcut created after update (shortcut name AVG AntiVirus FREE located on folder C:\Program Files\AVG\Antivirus\avgui.exe).
The shortcut name were different, the link to the file is different, file access when I click the shortcut were different one to avgui.exe and one to avguix.exe too but it open the same interface.
I try this on three pc and now all three pc got two avg shortcut on desktop
Is it bug ?
Which one I should delete?
Anyone have the same problem? Is this known issue?
Thank you for reaching us with your concerns and I regret for the inconvenience this may have caused. Please check the list of installed programs in control panel if the AVG is listed twice and let us know the names of the all AVG entries you see there.
AVG interface that show when I open "AVG" shortcut or "AVG AntiVirus Free" shortcut
Thank you for providing the screenshot. Please be informed that 'AVG' icon belongs to the management console (AVG Zen) and 'AVG Anti Virus Free' icon launches the anti virus dashboard.

We have received an update from developers. We will soon release an update in which the Zen icon will be removed and you will have a single icon for AVG application.

Then which one I can delete from my desktop? I assume delete shortcut "AVG" rather than "AVG AntiVirus Free" cause you said zen will soon be removed in the next update and shortcut "AVG" is belong to AVG Zen
The update will remove one of the icon named "AVG" from your desktop.
To access management console which is "AVG ZEN" you have to click on small "HOME" icon which is to the left of AVG Antivirus free dashboard.

Last time you said the update will remove one of the shortcut icon named "AVG" from my desktop, but after the update I still had two shortcut icon still on my desktop named " AVG" and "AVG AntiVirus Free"

Hi as I said before I had updated my office PC to 17.9 version and there is still 2 AVG shortcut icon in my desktop name "AVG" and "AVG Antvirus Free"
Now in my home PC I check still in 17.8 version but one of the shortcut name "AVG" suddenly gone. I don't know how this is happening since my AVG version still not updated
How is this happen to my home PC ? i assume the shortcut should be deleted only if i updated to 17.9 version, so how come AVG delete the shortcut when my home PC AVG still on 17.8 version? is AVG giving update other than virus definition and program update?
ill check my office PC later to see if 1 of the shortcut already deleted or not

I request you to check whether you have "My AVG" Option on "AVG Antivirus free" dashboard.
If it is present, click on it and select "My Subscriptions" from it.
Provide me with the screenshot of my subscriptions window to proceed further.

I request to reinstall AVG Antivirus free to get your 17.9 version which will show two desktop icons "AVG" and "AVG Antivirus free".
However, if you double click on both the icons, it will open AVG Antivirus free interface as of now.
The reason is, AVG management console (formerly known as Zen) was removed in the latest version release.
We are planning to implement a best design for Zen but this process will take time.
Once it is released, customers will be able to add and manage devices from AVG Zen interface.
Since we are planning to implement new design for "Zen" in mere future, "AVG" icon is getting installed now.

from 1st comment it said 17.9 supposed to have 1 shortcut, but from your post 17.9 supposed to have 2 shortcut which i think stupid because AVG Zen not there anymore.
So once again i ask why AVG already deleting 1 of the shortcut when its supposed to be to delete it only when i already update to 17.9? you're not answering the question, all your comment today only adding more confusion.
i dont know why i should reinstall when i can just update to 17.9 later and still have 1 shortcut icon as intended. please read this thread again from above before answering. please tell me which one is right and why this happen? so i assume avg updating something behind even when im not updating to 17.9 yet? because thats what happen right now, 1 shortcut already deleted as intended for 17.9 even when im still on 17.8
The reason for removal of your previous "AVG" icon is unknown but it should be due to recent program update or build version that got installed to your program.
The reason for suggesting you to reinstall AVG Antivirus free is because if there are any issues with downloaded updates the same would happen again.
Hence reinstallation is the recommended procedure in your case.
so since i already have only AVG Antivirus Free shortcut left on my desktop now. is it okay to not reinstall? since from other CS comment, version 17.9 supposed to delete the AVG shortcut and leave me with AVG Antivirus Free shortcut anyway ( you can read the other CS comment above).
i dont know which one is true anymore. should i have 2 shortcut in the end or not. lately the CS reply have been dissapointing
The reason is because we are making several changes in the recently released versions where the previous version installed two icons "AVG" & "AVG Antivirus/Internet Security" which will open the AVG Antivirus/Internet Security dashboard but the newly released build version, provides a single icon for the product.
You can expect a change in every update as we are working on to implement a new design for Zen.
Hence, you don't have to follow reinstallation process, if your AVG Antivirus free is working perfectly now.
