Hor usas AVG very slow
Hey, I've got the free version. This recent month AVG has been extremely slow. For example when I try to bring up the AVG window it loads for a long time. When I scan 'one' file it takes about 20 seconds for it to finish. Browser popups and redirects are blocked to some extent but are delayed as well. It as never like this before. I've tried updating AVG...read somewhere that windows disk defrag might be the reason, so I defragged the hard drives.But nothing has helped. AVG used to be a rocket before all this, now every action with AVG is 'delayed'. My pc is generally fast/ great, so I'm thinking there's something wrong with AVG? Any ideas?

We'd request you to uninstall AVG AntiVirus free, restart your PC and install it again to check if that resolves the issue.

Could you let us know whether there is any other antivirus program running on your computer?
Please open AVG Antivirus free program.
Click on "Menu->About" and check whether it shows as 20.5 version.
If yes, perform repair of AVG Antivirus free as mentioned in this article and check the status.

Did not work.
I have no other antivirus program installed. Also I have not installed any new software.
My Avg version is 20.5.3130 (version 20.5.5410.584).

I tried to repair using this method but it didn't work, received this error while clicking 'uninstall':
"This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page."
Instead I repaired it through Control Panel -> Programs & Features -> Uninstall -> Repair -> Restart pc.
But the app is still very slow. The repair did not help.
To specify further: Everytime I click on the AVG icon to bring up the AVG window, it loads for ~15 sec. Sometimes even when closing the window it takes like 5sec. The scanning of one file might take 20sec. It's just that AVG is extremely delayed for some reason. It loads too long. I'm worried that this delay might be affecting AVG's ability to stop threats.
