I have the Paid AVG Internet Security, some .pdf files won't allow me to change the file name, a window appears reading, "This action can't be completed because the file is open in AVG Antivirus".
We'll work together to get this sorted out. We suggest you to turn off AVG Internet Security temporarily and try to edit the .pdf files and see if that resolves the issue and let us know the status of the issue once you turn off AVG. To disable all AVG components at once, please follow these steps:
1. Right-click the AVG icon in the system tray next to the clock. 2. Click Temporarily disable AVG Internet Security.

Hi Avinash, Thank you for you help. What ever you did worked. I tried to change the name of a .pdf file on my desk top it worked. I also tried it to change the name on a couple of other .pdf files & the name change worked on all of them. All the best to you & all the support staff. Paul..

I turned AVG off & tried to rename a file & the same window appeared.
