JS:Agent-EGY [Trj]

I have been getting this thread pop-up from AVG (internet security-paid subscription) for 2 days now:

Thread: JS:Agent-EGY [Trj]
URL: http://wpad/wpad.dat
Process: C:\Program Files\AVG\Antivirus\AVGUI.exe,

whenever I am online.
I disconnected the computer from the internet and ran a "deep scan" as well as as "root-time scan" set to automatically clean for "Viruses" and inform about "pot. unwanted programs", but it found nothing and once connected to the internet again, the same message pops up again.

This is getting really frustrating and somehow scary, appreciate any help and advice.

Thanks Nico

Dear Avinash,
Thanks. Turns out there is/was no virus or better saying Trojan, but only false positives/alerts caused by conflicting programs and/or AVG.
A simple uninstall and new install of AVG internet security resolved the issue.
Thanks and all the best
Nico

Hello Nicolai.
We'll certainly help you resolve this. Please click 'See details' on the pop up and share a screenshot (http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) of it. Do you receive this randomly when connected to internet or when you start a browsing session? If it appears upon starting a browsing session, did you try using a different web browser to verify?

Dear Avinash,
Thanks for the prompt reply:
1. Screenshot: Following your link above, it suggests to submit the screenshot via emial (which I also received with your reply), hence I am not sure I should share here or via email, but lets try here first
2. I might be wrong, but the only pertinent info one can get from a screenshot incl. detail is already in my post, meaning the name, URL and process

3. This pop up comes up the moment the computer is connected to the internet/online and links to AVG itself as it appreas and is not any major internet browser related at all.
No Internet browser was open/active at the time. It also seems to affect other programs, such as AutoCAD (see below)

Thank you for providing the screenshot, Nicolai.
We've asked for the screenshot to see which AVG component has detected this threat. It seems some adware application or an unwanted browser extension is trying to establish a connection to this website. Please verify and uninstall the unwanted applications and reset your web browsers to default settings. Monitor the situation and let us know if you still receive this threat detection pop ups.

Dear Avinash,
I am not sure follow. My screenshot and email clearly indicate that my web browser (100% Mozilla Firefox btw) is not affected, neither appears to be the cause, but that AVG itself is affected as well as some brower within AutoCAD.
If I understand you correctly, you want me to uninstall AVG and AutoCAD? Does that make any sense, or better asking, does AVG not provide a removal tool for teh actual Trojan?
AvinashAvinash (Avast)
Nicolai, we do not mean to uninstall AVG or AutoCAD applications.
I see that you paid for a virus removal assurance service. I have sent an email containing instructions to get connected with our remote assistance team. Please connect with them and they will be glad to scan your PC for virus.
