I have tried repair and it seems to make the scan start, but it still states "Last computer scan: Never".
Since my computer scan was scheduled when I was not at the office, I do now know if the scan was being performed or not... just that it states" "Last computer scan: Never".
1.Open tool 2.User Account control - click "Yes" 3.Windows safe mode - click "No" (we cannot recommend use the tool in safe mode, because there is a problem with compatibility) 4.Choose installed version (AVG Free, AVG Internet Security) 5.Click "Uninstall" 6.Click "Restart computer"
After restart, run AVG Remover http://avgclick.me/UninstallAVGAV and remove all other supported products and remnants of AVG (ZEN, Framework).
Now you can download AVG free version as suggested here: http://avgclick.me/InstallFree. We are here if further assistance is required.
Sorry to hear that the issue persists, we will escalate this case to our senior level technicians. We have sent you an email instruction to collect the log files. Please follow those instructions to get in touch with them and you should be able to resolve your issue.
Hello Scott, Thank you for your patience. Upon reviewing your case details, it seems that your issue has been again escalated to our level 3 senior team. After that, the issue has escalated to our developer team and they have started working on this issue to get it fixed. This issue will be fixed at the earliest. We would appreciate your patience and cooperation in fixing this issue. Thank you
It seems to me that a number of people are experiencing this issue and all are being given the run around. What's the story here? Is there a fix or not?
Our developers are working with high priority to fix the issues with AVG Schedule scan. We assure you that this will be fixed at the earliest as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter. Thank you.
Hi, just to let you know, I have been having a problem with Scheduled Scan, in that the scan will not start, consistently, at the time set. I have spoken to the AVG Go - Total Care helpline several times, and was even at one stage told that 'it looks like a problem with the code'. I was not made aware of the bug mentioned above. One work round, but obviously not a solution, seems to be to set up a scheduled scan every day (defeating the object of the tool!) just before I want it to run. So far, it seems to activate a scan. I put the output from the scan to a report file (possible proof that Scott above needs that it has run?). One instance of how annoying this inconsistency can be, is that on Tuesday Windows Update day, the Updates took 3 hours! It was only afterwards that I realised that Sceduled scan had started halfway through the Updates process, and they were clashing with each other! The Scheduled scan was timed for 12:00, but actually started itself at 18:41!
Thank you for your detailed explanation, Mike. The detailed startup of scheduled scan was not mentioned by any customer till date and this will be checked by the developer team as well. Once a fix is released, it will be updated in this community forum. We appreciate your time and co-operation.
Well it is still not working correctly. It now says scan performed "a moment ago" every day and it is only suppose to scan 1x per week. I looked in the scan history and it said the last scan took 7 days??? What? 7 days for a scan? Really?

Thank you for providing the log files. We suggest you to wait for an update from the developer team and once an update is released, it will be updated in AVG Community forum.
Hello, I was automatically upgraded to AVG Internet Security 17.7.3032 yesterday. The daily scan is still not working automatically; I have to delete it and re-instate it daily! Although the messages in the bottom left (Last Computer scan) and bottom right (Virus definition update) now work correctly. My timed (daily) scan ran today OK but the amount of output to the report file is tremendous! I have set the output to 'Infected items' and Hard errors'. I am not sure what the 'File is offline - it is currently not available. (42006)' message is referring to (7 Megabytes worth!), or even if it is relevent to the scan. It does not seem to refer to Infected items or Hard errors. I await your comments. Mike
Thank you for your patience. The Error 42006 means, the file was marked as offline (i.e. the file should be a local copy of a network file). Offline files can be visible on disk, but they can be stored on a network share/tape/different medium and it'd take very long time to scan them. Anybody can set this flag usually, it's a backup/synchronization tool.
Hello Bhuvaneswari, thank you for your reply. The above error messages have stopped being included in the report file, as from 07/10/2017. I am assuming this is because of an update to AVG Internet security as I have done nothing to prevent them, especially the action you have outlined above. I continue to have to reset the scheduled scan on a daily basis, in order for it to run automatically. It seems strange that the code that initiates a daily/automatic scan, which worked fine on version 16, was not carried over to version 17.
Thank you for the more information Mike, The schedule scan issue is already fixed. In this case, I request you to connect with us via chat (http://avgclick.me/AVGtechnical), we will check with your installed AVG program and we will help you to fix the AVG Schedule scan issue. Best regards, Alok.
I followed the link, and your colleague Vijeyendarkumar Jayavelu re-installed AVG Internet security, and ran a scan; it worked OK. I then set up a scan to run at 12:00 today, but pressed 'Run Scan Now' to prove it would work (at 16:08); it did. At 12:00 today, the scheduled scaan for 12:00 did not work. Case number 05367955
Hello Mike, I'm sorry to hear that you're still experiencing issues with AVG schedule scan. I have sent you an email, please follow the email instruction to connect with us remotely again, we will check with your installed AVG program and we will help you to fix the AVG issues as soon as possible. Best regards, Alok.
I connected to your Support facility using the remote link, yesterday. The technician set up a one-off scan, and asked me to come back today, with the results of the reports from the scan. This is, effectively, what I have been doing since being updated to Version 17. Unfortunately he forgot to click on the report tab to set up reports output. I edited his scan to allow reports, and re-ran the scan; the reports are the same as from the attempted scheduled scans that I have run. The scheduled scan I set up yesterday to run at 12:00pm today has not run automatically, again, so your comment in the on-line forum ‘Scheduled Scan not Working’ https://support.avg.com/answers#!/feedtype=SINGLE_QUESTION_DETAIL&dc=All&criteria=ALLQUESTIONS&id=906b0000000DmD3AAK that “The schedule scan issue is already fixed” has not happened on the re-installation by Vijey, your technician. May I respectfully suggest that your software technicians inspect the code that governs the scheduled scan facility in both Version 16 (where it working every day for months on my laptop), and Version 17 (where it hasn’t successfully run on two consecutive days), and see what the difference is with a view to incorporating the working code in Version 17? I will carry on running a daily scan manually, in the hope that an update will cure the fault in the near future. Case number 05367955
Thank you for your detailed information, Scott. I have escalated your request to the senior team and they will recheck the scheduled scan status. Your patience is much appreciated.
I understand how difficult this is for you. The scheduled scan issue was not fixed in the latest version 17.7 as well. Our senior team are working on the same. Your patience is much appreciated.
Updated to 17.8.3036 last night, on return from holiday. logged on this morning, and the scheduled daily scan, that I set up before going on holiday, started automatically at 12:00 today!!
You will be pleased to hear that, for the past 6 days, Scheduled Daily scans have been activating automatically. One scan even started automatically, even though I had not switched on my PC until after the time scheduled for the scan! Thank you.
Thank you for updating the status. I am glad to hear that AVG schedule scan is working perfectly. Feel free to contact us for any issues with AVG. Have a nice day!!!

Since my computer scan was scheduled when I was not at the office, I do now know if the scan was being performed or not... just that it states" "Last computer scan: Never".
Scott
That is the first thing I did.
I ran a scan but it contiues to say Never when last scan was performed.
Scott
We understand this might be disappointing, no need to worry, we can proceed with the re-installation of AVG.
Please download and run AVG Clear tool: https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe. This tool will help with removing antivirus component of AVG 2017 and its traces.
1.Open tool
2.User Account control - click "Yes"
3.Windows safe mode - click "No" (we cannot recommend use the tool in safe mode, because there is a problem with compatibility)
4.Choose installed version (AVG Free, AVG Internet Security)
5.Click "Uninstall"
6.Click "Restart computer"
After restart, run AVG Remover http://avgclick.me/UninstallAVGAV and remove all other supported products and remnants of AVG (ZEN, Framework).
Now you can download AVG free version as suggested here: http://avgclick.me/InstallFree. We are here if further assistance is required.
I scheduled a weekly scan and after the scan, it still states "LAST COMPUTER SCAN : NEVER"

Mike
Hi Mike,
Thank you for your patience.
The schedule scan issue is already fixed. In this case, I request you to connect with us via chat (http://avgclick.me/AVGtechnical), we will check with your installed AVG program and we will help you to fix the AVG Schedule scan issue.
Best regards,
Alok.

I'm sorry to hear that you're still experiencing issues with AVG schedule scan. I have sent you an email, please follow the email instruction to connect with us remotely again, we will check with your installed AVG program and we will help you to fix the AVG issues as soon as possible.
Best regards,
Alok.

I understand how difficult this is for you. The scheduled scan issue was not fixed in the latest version 17.7 as well. Our senior team are working on the same. Your patience is much appreciated.
Do you mean that AVG schedule scan is working perfectly now after the update?
I am encouraged that it worked automatically today; give it a few days, to be sure.
I am glad to hear that AVG schedule scan is working perfectly.
Feel free to contact us for any issues with AVG.
Have a nice day!!!
I also have this issue and tried the above steps but to no avail.
My software version is 18.3.3051
To be sure, are you facing issues with AVG Schedule scan or "last computer scan" message on AVG interface?
