Slow running program load

I just got through getting Outlook 2016 to work again (after the third tech person who was fantastic, the first two pretty bad and it was an AVG problem not a Microsoft problem.)  The program was uninstalled and reinstalled.  Now my program loads are slow.  Specifically, as I am a CPA, my tax programs.  Just upgraded my computer in January and it is heavy duty.  More than enough resources.  Before the upgrade was loaded within 30 seconds.  Now is taking 2 minutes.  Is there something in the AVG settings that could be causing this?  I am not worried about getting a virus from this in that the company is very security conscious.  It does go out and check for updates upon opening, but as I said, it never slowed it down before.  If anyone can give me direction, I would appreciate it.  Personally, I hate updates and upgrades.  They always seem to cause massive issues and the problems take a lot of time to get resolved.

I apologize to hear about the inconvenience caused. Please let us know whether it is Outlook only or any other application you are experiencing it is loading slow after the reinstallation of AVG.

Outlook is now working pretty well.

SPecifically, it is my tax program which is ATX by CCH.  I just removed the update upon startup feature to see if that would speed it up and it did not.  Taking about 2 minutes to load and shouldn't be.  I just upgraded by computer in January, Intel 7 processor, large hardrive and 32 GB RAM, so this shouldn't be a provlem.  NO virus has been scanned by the new program about 6 times in the last few days (the support kept saying a virus).  Don't know where to go to try and get it to speed up.  Previous to the AVG upgrade took about 30 second to loand.  And again, I agree with the other individuals took me one and one half days to resolve my Outlook problem after the upgrade.  While I appreciate upgrades are often a problem 1) some warning would be nice, 2) your staff needs to be better trained.  I kept getting it was an Outlook problem when I had already spent over an hour on the phone with my Microsoft support and email provider (who are absolutely great) to determine that it was NOT an Outlook problem.  I finally isolated it myself and then your staff through chat helped.

However, If you can give me suggestions as to how to speed up this program, I would appreciate it.  I am just not sure as to what direction to look at to resolve this.
