Your online security is incomplete.

I have just read the 83 comments of people having this pop up on their computer. I have it also but  fist about 2 weeks ago AVG did an update, since then my compute shas slowed right down. I unistalled AVG and then reinstalled it, still like a snail. I have run the scan plus another scan but it's not showing anything. I have been using AVG for many years and recommended it to many people over the years and this is the first time that annoying pop up appears saying my security is incomplete and it's the first time it has slowed right down after an upgrade. I am seriously thinking of deleting AVG completely and finding another one. Many have mentioned Avast, I guess it's worth a try unless AVG would know why it slowed down after the upgrade.

I've been getting the same popup every day and its annoyance.  I'll add a screen shot to see the popup.  If it came up once a month it might not be so bad, but every day is it bit much.AVG Popup

Hello Johnq,
It seems you are using an AVG free version. The pop up is to notify you to upgrade your free version to pro version to experience better protection for your PC. Please ignore if you do not want to upgrade. Appreciate your understanding. Thank you.
Johnq PowersJohnq Powers
Is there a way to make it not popup every day?  I understand you want me to upgrade but it seems a bit much to popup every day.  As I said if it popped up once a month then it would be ok.  Every day and sometimes multiple times a day is way too much.

Seems they have run an update on the software...that message didn't come up for me today on start-up.  May be they do listen. Then again I could be speaking way too soon...

Hello Avinash.

Peter is not stupid, he knows what version he is using. We do not need to be marketed EVERY DAY to upgrade to a product we have chose NOT to use. We do not want to "ignore" this o
popup every time we turn on our computer.

Please remove this "marketing" techinque or you will lose more customers.

I have already filled out a "feedback" form as well as an "escalated" feedback form.

Hello,

I am glad I came across this feed, I too have AVG Free Adition on 2 of my computers, 1 of which is my Media Centre, and AVG has this popup which comes up almost every few hours interrupting my Movies. It is starting to piss me off, so what did I do, I contacted the head of Microsoft department and filed a complaint because I disabled ALL NOTIFICATIONS within the AVG Software and also disabled ALL notifications through the Microsoft Action Centre, which should hide ALL Notifications from AVG, but AVG have by-passed this somehow and have violated Microsoft Terms and Conditions and will get a nice letter from their legal team in the comming days/weeks advising them to change their script and remove this notification or they will be persuing legal action against AVG. Kind Regards! Better pass up to your developers ASAP to redo their sneaky little coding of their popup string that by-passes ALL Microsoft Notification Disabling Services!!!

btw AVG you cannot ingore the popup if it comes upo EVERY DAY and sometimes multiple times a day... It's pissing everyone off CLEARLY so remove it, I don't care if it's your "business campaign" or what not, it's illegal and targeted at making a profit off people that think their product is at risk and need to upgrade! Its intrusive, breaches the privacy act and must stop immediately! Stop bullsh*tting around the subject and grow up, stop acting like a 10 year old child, you and your marketing team should be ashamed!

Thank you.

Done as Kishore's comment above but still receiving message. His solution doesn't work. AVG please stop bullying me. Asking/begging me everyday to give you money will not make me give you any. In fact I am more likely to stop using your program and staop recommending it to others who might pay.

Hello Kevin,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Our customers may get legitimate campaign pop-ups to promote our product which has advanced features. Please note that these pop-ups are temporary. Since our customers felt it as annoying, we have already escalated such cases to the concerned department and they are working on it. AVG carefully monitors the quality of our products and the service we provide, therefore all feedback from our customers is important to us. Submit your valuable feedback in http://www.avg.com/us-en/product-feedback and our development team will see to this and will fix it in the upcoming updates. Thank you.

It's now July and the pop-up is still there. How long does it take your "concerned department" to solve a relatively simple problem? It would be nice if the pop-up had a "no, thank you" option that would turn it off, for at least a month.

For the record, I did install the upgraded version and was not impressed enough during the free trial period to keep it. I do use one of your paid products, PC TuneUp, which has kept my laptop running quite well for a number of years.

However, I am seriously considering not renewing the license on it and moving to another vendor for my software needs because all I see in answers in this thread are repeated platitudes with no real customer service. This is not support. This is ignoring your customer base.

I am uninstalling AVG crappy adware! Ps. I cheched out "Display system tray notifications" everything is default.
Balasubramanian SBalasubramanian S (Avast)
Hello,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
We can see that you are using the AVG Free antivirus and you can setup the frequency for Marketing popup, More than once a day, Once a day and Once every 3 days. Only for paid version you can choose the option as "NEVER" and if you choose never you wont' be getting marketing popup from AVG.

So, in other words: AVG IS THE VIRUS!

AVG popup.jpg

This is the latest version of popup that has infected my system and likes to come up right in the middle of what I'm doing every ten minutes. It literally takes the focus (term for the active window) away from whatever I'm working on and it has become apparent I need to get a different product. I can't have this virus/malware/adware messing up my work. AVG: c'ya!
