I was hoping to conduct a scan but for some reason the interface won't open no matter how many times I click on the various icons. What would you recommend I do to open it?
On checking, you have AVG Internet Security subscription under the email address registered with AVG.
If you're experiencing the issue with AVG Internet Security, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if you're able to open the interface.
1. Ensure you are logged in to Windows as a user with administrator permissions. 2. Press the Win and R keys on your keyboard simultaneously to run the Windows Services console, type services.msc, and click OK. 3. In the Services console, locate and right-click AVG Antivirus, then select Properties. 4. Ensure the General tab is selected, click the drop-down menu next to Startup type and select Automatic. Click Apply to confirm changes. If the service stops running, click Start in the Service status section. 5. Restart your PC and open AVG Antivirus again
I did as you say, but now it's telling me that Acess is denied when I click Apply. It also won't tell me it's status when I hover the cursor over the AVG antivirus Icon on the taskbar.
I've tried that and again it's not responding. I've tried some ways of testing if it's still working. I opened another AVG product window and couldn't access it via the My AVG dropbox. I then tried right-clicking a folder in my documents and selected "scan selected items for viruses". Nothing happened and the folder froze with a "not responding" sign. My application for AVG antivirus simply isn't working at present. Is there a case that I would be better off sleeping on this and seeing if it will function tommorow? If there is anything else you could suggest then please do.
We'll certainly help you further.
