HOW DO I STOP SECURE BROWSER NOTIFICATIONS

HOW DO I STOP SECURE BROWSER NOTIFICATIONS

Hello Wayne,

We will help you with the necessary information.

Do you wish to delete the ads in AVG Secure browser? If yes, we do have an option 'Adblock'. To enable this feature, go to ⋮ Menu ▸ Security & Privacy Center and click the slider below Adblock to turn ON.

Let us know if you need any help.

Hi I am using the AVG Secure Browser but rather ironically it seems to be compromised by malicious browser notifications (for example fake Norton expiry messages, ransomware pages).
Is there any way to remove these? The ad block does not help.

Hi Priyanga,

Thanks for your reply, but is there a difference between notifications and ads??
Regards
Wayne

Wayne, ads are popups you will receive when accessing a website. You will be redirected to the ad web page or popup.
You might receive prompt from few websites to allow notifications. When you enable/allow this prompt, you will receive notifications directly in your computer.
You can use the "Adblock" option in AVG Secure Browser to block the ads. However, you need to disable notifications from AVG Secure Browser settings.
Follow the below steps to disable the notifications.
Open AVG Secure Browser --> click menu (three vertical dots) at top right corner of the browser page --> select Settings --> click Advanced Security --> Privacy and security --> Site settings --> Notifications.
Let us know if you have further queries.

Hi Michael,

We will certainly look into this and help you.
Please let us know whether you are redirected to unwanted web page or receiving popups from AVG Secure Browser.
If you are receiving popups for fake Norton and ransomware, provide us the screenshot of the same to assist further.

I think your problem is that you have enabled notifications from a certain website. You just need to find the notification settings of that website and turn it off.

Joseph, AVG AntiVirus will protect only your computer.

We cannot secure a website using the AVG AntiVirus.

Thank you.
