AVG Free Edition 2016

Using trouble-free AVG Free Edition (ZEN) 2016.0.7227 BUT occasionally upon Windows 7 boot
AVG creates a desktop shortcut. Very minor thing but why and can it be fixed/stopped?

Hello Nick,

Do you mean that you didn't create the shortcut icon for your AVG antivirus free Zen version but after the system restart it automatically creates the shortcut key for AVG?

Exactly except it does not do it every time on reboot.
Just a random glitch? I can find nowhere to control it.

You are welcome, Nick. This looks weird and this the first time we are hearing this kind of issue. Have you tried a complete reinstallation of your AVG antivirus free program once? If not please try that and do let us know the status of it. Thank you.

Thanks and I may do that or, in the case of my last problem with AVG not loading
the Event History, just wait for a new version which seems to come around frequently.
I searched the forum before posting but as you said that issue wasn't discussed.

Actually it is a bug in our latest version where you won't have the list displayed in the Event History. This has been already escalated and our concerned team is working on this to fix this and in the future update this fix will be added. Thank you.

Funny but updating to this most recent version 2016.0.7227 fixed my Event History

Yes, as I mentioned the problem was with one of our program update. So you don't have the Event History issue now, am I right?

Right. My little shortcut glitch is a miniscule annoyance that's intermittent.

Glitch must have corrected itself as the desktop AVG shortcut has not appeared
in 3 days now with numerous cold Windows 7 boots. Still using version 2016.0.7227
and did not reinstall this. (I know, picky, picky, picky but you know how techs are.)
Appreciate the help so I guess that marks this problem solved.
