Hello Steve, I'm sorry to hear about this. Please disable AVG Online Shield (Open AVG Free Antivirus > menu > settings > components) and check if you can access your bank website. If yes, then please uninstall Online Shield alone, reinstall it and check if you can access your website. Best regards, Alok.

This same problem started on 3 computers I have a few weeks ago for me also, all running VISTA, The solution I found is, Open AVG Free Antivirus > menu > settings > components > Online Shield > uncheck ' Enable HTTPS scanning'.
I installed AVAST on one of my VISTA comps and it had the same problem, unchecking ' Enable HTTPS scanning' also fixed the problem in AVAST, AVAST has found a solution for this problem as all is good now with HTTPS scanning box ticked again.
Im not sure if AVAST is aware that there other product 'AVG 'has this same problem with comps running VISTA.???

I apologize for the inconvenience. Unchecking the ' Enable HTTPS scanning' option is not a permanent solution. To analyze the root cause of the issue, please submit the website URL to us for analysis https://www.avg.com/submit-sample.
This problem has already been posted at (forum.avast.com,) many times and Avast has fixed the problem, But it hasn't been fixed with AVG even though Avast and AVG are the same company??
Yes I know this isn't a permanent solution, This is a known problem with computers running Vista with a recent Avast and AVG update as of about 4 weeks ago, But Avast has fixed it now, does AVG know about this same problem??
@Vlct, yes we know about this problem and our product management are working on this. If you could submit the form it would be more helpful to us to analyze the issue and fix it.
@Vlct, AVG and Avast use the same virus definitions. In case the mentioned websites are no longer blocked by Avast, it shouldn't be blocked by AVG as well. Since, those website are blocked by AVG on your computer, we may need additional information. Please get in touch with our chat team at https://support.avg.com/support_sales?l=en to get further assistance. When chatting with the technician, you can provide the case number 05025442.

Thank you.
