AVG Will not install

AVG will not install. I keep getting the 0xc0070643 error. I restarted everything, I uninstalled and re installed and nothing works. I've tried everything. The download and installing phase always stops at 87% and then asks to restart my computer, I do and then it says it fails to install and that AVG can't install.

Rafael, On the error are you also seeing Description Event Exec. finished?. If so, If you are getting this 0xC0070643 Description: Event exec finished error message while installing AVG then it has to be dealt with only by their additional support. They will send you an email with further instructions to be followed to get their additional support. Please check for the email on spam or junk folders if it is not present in the inbox.

Hello, I have the same problem as Rafael. I try to install the free version of AVG (with the correct 64 bit version) and I always get the 0xc0070643 error. I have no other anti-virus installed.
I've used the AVG remover tool. I always also get the missing MSVCP110.dll message.
Please let me know how I can go about fixing this. Thanks in advance

Hello Dan,
We apologize for the inconvenience.
We suggest you to completely remove all the traces of AVG from your computer using the AVG removal tool http://avgclick.me/UninstallAVGAV. Once the removal is complete, please go to the C drive and delete the "AVG Remover" folder. After which you will be able to reinstall AVG without any error.
Thank you.

OK, I was able to reinstall AVG, BUT that updater came back. It runs in the background and continues to repeat itself. Last time some 700 times. The file is: AVG-Secure_search Update_0816AVZ.exe. I unilstalled AVG again with the AVG remover. Do you know what this file is?
Balasubramanian SBalasubramanian S (Avast)

AVG Secure Search is our free browser add-on, do you have it installed on your default browser?
Could you please check it and confirm whether it is installed?

Balasubramanian SBalasubramanian S (Avast)

Thank you.

I have the same problem that Dan Gabus had. The file: AVG-Secure_search Update_0816AVZ.exe is running multiple processes when I open Windows Task Manager. I am running Vista and don't see any of the folders that Balasubramanian suggested to delete in the C drive. Please help. My pc is moving at a crawl. See the attached photo above. Thank you.

I went to control panel ---> uninstall a program and AVG Safe Search was NOT listed. The only things there are: AVG and AVG Protection (see above photo). I also checked my browser extensions in both Chome and Internet Explorer. Chrome has zero extensions. But Internet Explorer revealed....
