ZEN

I don't want ZEN.  I just want to install AVG 2016 on Windows 7.  Is there an option in the installation wizard to omit ZEN?

Chris, Which AVG product are you actually attempting to install on your system?.

Thank you Alan.

I have come to the conclusion that I wish to continue AVG 2015 free.  I installed Zen/2016 on my Windows 7 system, reconsidered, and made the discovery that no Zen/2016 removal utility yet seems to be available.  I then experienced a rare failure of System Restore and had to recover from a month old Windows 7 system disk clone.

It seems that running a 2015 installation wizard causes Zen/2016 to be installed whether you want it or not.  I did not.  If you are running Windows XP, the 2015 wizard might install 2015 or, more likely, will crash in its attempt to install Zen/2016.  From what I can gather from other discussions in this forum, installing Zen/2016 seems not to be possible for many users of Windows XP,.

Having recovered the use of AVG 2015.0.6140, it seems very reluctant to do a program update to version 2015.0.6172 which was actually in use before I made the error of judgment to install Zen/2016.  I have started the system at between 8am and 10am (the standard time band in the program update schedule) but to no avail.

I am not the only user to be confused.

Note: AVG Remover removes AVG Free, AntiVirus, Internet Security and Premium Security, but not the AVG Zen application (if installed). After running AVG Remover, you may need to uninstall any remaining AVG applications manually by repeating the step B).
