John Clark AVG Zen Free?
I am getting very confused over this.
I was using AVG 2015 Free version.
Have updated this week & downloaded AVG Zen version 2016.0.7161
Is this free?
I have read in one report that Zen is free & in another that it is not, so would you please clarify
I am only using on one devise so am not using the Zen fragment.
Is there another version without Zen?
If so where do I find it?

Thanks but looking at the download for all of the versions ZEN is included.
Question:- Am I OK to keep version 2016.0.7161 with Zen?
Also is Zen free even though I will not use this facility
Would you like to install AVG protection program 2016 version ? You cannot install both AVG antivirus and AVG Protection( AVG Zen ) in your computer.

I had AVG 2015 free installed.
Last week I thought I would update to latest version & downloaded version 2016.0.7161
I found later that this contains Zen.
I believe that Zen protects more than one devise, correct?
I only need to protect one devise.
So basic question, which is best free version to give antivirus protection?
Also what is differance between AVG antivirus & AVG Protection?

I have used your first response, & find all of the versions listed, including the C Net download include ZEN
I also went from your link to "Installation Files Free Version & download
"AVG_Free_x64_693.exe
After download you get a message:-
"You are about to install AVG Internet Security with Zen
Alan, I think there is confusion in the AVG download site.
I only need anti virus protection for one computer
But is it best just to leave on version 2016.0.7161?
Can I assume that this version is free, even though it has Zen with it?

I agree that if I go into the cnet link there is no mention on the fist page about Zen.
But, it does state version 2016.0.7161 which contains Zen
Also
If I click onto the download button & run, I get a page that says"You are about to install AVG Zen
Hence I think AVG have a problem with thier downoload page.
Could you please :-
1 If possible advise them as it is i think causing users much confusion/certern
2 Would you please advise me if it is best to keep version 2016.0.7161 with Zen?
3 Please would you confirm that 2016.0.7161 with Zen is a free version?

Same problems, if I go to the 6th download down on the page it's headed "AVG Antivirus Free" if you click onto download it diverts to the cnet site for AVG Zen
Also if I cllick onto the green button at top of page the same thing happens, you get diverted to AVG Zen
Could I just ask you, what is the problem of having AVG with Zen if I have only one devise?
I assume the Zen version is free?
Think it would be very good if you could get message into AVG Management & keep us informed.

Because I have downloaded the AVG Zen version with no charge!
Also it seems to be working OK, it's updating & the "Protection Area" shows that the anti virus is on & the web is protected.
Still think best action is for you if possible to help AVG sort out.

Could you please, if possible:-
1 Get AVG to confirm there is a problem on the download sites
2 Ask if AVG Zen is free.
3 How are they going to sort it out.

Next screen:- Clicked onto "Free Download from C Net"
Next screen:- Clicked onto "Download now"
Clicked onto "Run"
Get message as follows:- " You are about to install AVG Internet security with Zen
Assume you will go back to them for solution/clarification

Went into both "Installation Files Free Version"
AVG_Antivirus_Free_692.exe
also went into
AVG_Antivirus_Free_x64.693.exe
Both tried to download AVG Antivirus with ZEN

Please understand that I have investigated the link supplied by Alan & this downloads AVG with Zen, not without it.
I am happpy with the version I have, 2016.0.7161 (which is with Zen), but would like to establish that this is a free version.

I certainly understand your concern. If you have successfully installed the AVG protection free which has the Zen interface then it is good to use. On your AVG zen interface you will be having the Protection circle, please click on it and you should get the "AVG Antivirus Free" window opened. If you get the AVG antivirus free window opened then it means that you have successfully installed the AVG free antivirus program. Please check it and do let us know the status of this. Thank you.

Thank you for checking and confirming that you are having AVG antivirus Free. Yes it is confirmed that you have installed the 2016 version, however I would request you to check on the Support tab of the AVG antivirus Free window to check the version of it. If you have 2016 version on the support tab of AVG antivirus free window then it is 100% confirmed that it is the 2016 version. Thank you.
I have gone into "Protection" Tab then "Options" then "About AVG"

No, I did not run the remover.
But if I had have done so & then used the link you gave it would have reinstalled AVG version 2016.0.7161 which contains Zen!
So I/you seem to be going round in circles.
AVG have confirmed that version 2016.0.7161 is a free version, even though it contains the Zen element, which is good enough for me.
But I am still slightly concerned that AVG will not accept that there is a free version without Zen.

You may well be correct.
Is all I can state is what I have said above:-

But Alan, why should I remove the "Zen" element? AVG have confirmed it's free version so I'm quite happy, unless you can advise me otherwise?
A further thought on this, I did not "Install" from the "Installer". I got to the point where the file was downloaded & ready for Installation & the message given was "You are about to Install AVG with Zen.
So I can't see how having AVG 2016.0.7161 already installed comes into the picture.

I cannot imagine how you could have come to the feeling that I am connected to AVG Corperation.
I have nothing to do with AVG other than being a user of AVG Free with a problem.
If you read the thread I would have thought you would have understood this.
I'm still slightly confused about AVG Free verion with Zen, 2016.0.7161, but I have been advised that it is free by AVG staff so unless Alan B. a true "Guru" advises otherwise I intend to leave it as is.
Hope you now realise that I'm just a customer

I have already tried the WW-en version of the site you suggest & it downloads the Zen version.

As I clearly mentioned you in my post that you are having the AVG antivirus Free 2016 version with the Zen interface. So please do not get confused. If you don't have any problem in using the Zen interface then you need not remove it. If you face any issues then please do let us know. Thank you.

Thanks, but AVG state, see Balasubramanian post above that AVG with Zen is a free version.
Hence I can see no reason to uninstall & then reinstall can you?

AVG Zen is crap. And now, so is AVG. Off to find another antivirus solution
