STILL UPDATING... STEP 1/2 [100%] | Error: HTTP server returned error
or: Connection not established
Tried 'repairing' before contacting AVG because I knew you'd suggest it. There is, of course, nothing wrong with the program (in that respect!) it must be your server.
Tried manually updating from: www.avg.com/update. It finds no update files.
I hope you sort this soon because we are not fully protected although your new program says that we are. AVG Internet Security 2016 is updating correctly. You probably know that Avast has suffered this problem in the past.
This is a known bug and developers are working to fix this. I assure you that the issue will be fixed as soon as possible and released via update. I appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter. Thank you.
I, too, am having the same problem "Error: HTTP Server returned error" when I try to manually update the annti virus. One comment I read was that "This is a known bug....and will be fixed via release of update." It was posted ny some AVG tech. But, that post isn't showing.
I am new to AVG with a free 30 day trial as of June 6th.
I am able to view the post stating this as a bug: https://support.avg.com/answers?id=906b0000000Dpjl If you are facing the same issue for update, please be informed that this will be fixed as soon as possible. Thank you.
Thank you Balasubramanian. I'll wait the problem has been found and cured before checking my bank account. Hopefully before we go shopping on Wednesday morning. Best of luck, Mike.
I'm having this same issue. Tried repair/reboot, nothing changed. Last virus definition 14 hours ago, Update always hangs up at the point where something that has bootwin32-375 in the signature shows up (everything moves so fast I can't figure out the rest). WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED??? Is it only in free version, or are paying customers also experiencing this?
It is indeed disappointing when you have to contact us multiple times about the same issue. We would like to update you again that our technical team is working on the fix and I am sorry there is no exact estimated time when will the fix be available.
You are NOT PROTECTED Although the interface says 'You are fully protected' you are not. At the rate at which new viruses and other nasties are being disseminated it is certain that AVG 2017 is not doing its job properly. I am not using online banking until 'our technical team' has got the damn thing sorted out. Meanwhile I would advise everyone to use telephone banking.
It is paticularly worrying that many AVG users are assuming that their virus definitions are being updated automatically so are blissfully unaware that they are not fully protected.
AVG Internet Security 2016 is being updated correctly and protecting well so now, AVG Technologies, isn't it time to allow everyone to use it? Not just 'some PCs'.
Hello Mike, I'm sorry about the error, we have already reported AVG Virus definition update failed error "HTTP server returned error" to our concern team, they are working on this and the issue will get fixed as quickly and efficiently as possible, please be patient. Best regards, Alok.
Thank you so much for confirming that the update issue has been fixed. I appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter. Feel free to contact us if you need any assistance. Have a nice day!

Is it still a "bug" problem? And is it being worked on? And what the is the current estimate of repair time?
Thanks.
