AVG Free Rootkit threat message

I use AVG Free on my Windows XP computer.  After a recent AVG update, I keep getting the following Rootkit threat message:

SVC:swcustfg>???

Rootkit:hidden service

AVG asks if I want to delete it, but when I tell it to do so it won't actually delete it.  It comes up every time I boot up my computer.  I've tried to do a "search" but it never shows up.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Thanks for your help.  Would you like a photo of the error screen in .jpg format or a screen capture of the error screen put in a .doc format?

Dee,
The screenshots in JPG or PNG are usually the best. So, we suggest you to either provide us the screenshots in JPG or PNG.
Thank you!

User-added imageUser-added imageHere are 2 screen shots.  I have requested that it delete the file.  The second screen shot (boot scan) has been performed numerous times also.  Just to repeat what I said in the original post, AVG asks if I want to delete it, but when I tell it to do so it won't actually delete it.  It comes up every time I boot up my computer.  Thanks for your help.

Dee, that is most likely a false positive caused by some part of hardware in your system. You will probably have to put it in the exceptions to stop it from showing up.

Thank you.  I will try your instructions this weekend and give you an update.

Hi,

This weekend I tried all the steps Akash Chanda suggested.  All of the steps went smoothly.  Reloaded the program. Did a full scan and asked it to resolve the issue, but it could not.  I'm still getting the same rootkit message as before.  Thanks for any input.

Rick Agen, I must have posted my previous answer about the time you wrote yours since I didn't see it until now.

I am having the exact same problem as 'Dee Rose'.  Same 'AVG Rootkit Found' msg, screen shots and unsuccessful results.  This problem showed up this week.
I am using AVG Free, Win7 Pro.
There have not been any posts to this thread since 6/8/17 - Are there any updates?
Thanks.
