VProtect Application

I want to share my AVG product experience, and get suggestions from the AVG Community. My desktop computer's hard drive has been malfunctioning due to a repeating disk error finding. I have had to reinstall Windows 10 Home Edition numerous times to recover from the disc error. The harddrive would make a repeating clicking noise on short intervoles, the system would crash and not completely reboot.
After a refreshed OS install the system seemed fine for awhile, then the disc error problem happens again. So I decided to try AVG after trying other anti virus and malware programs that did not help fix the problem.
I did an AVG complete scan and 1 item was found in the user's folder, and I deleted it. I then did a registry scan and as I was reviewing the results the system crashed. And on the system reboot I got a blue screen saying there is a disc problem and the system cannot reboot to Windows. And then I saw the words "WATCH DOG is installing" and my immediate concern was that the problem was reinstalling itself, and I feared of not getting back into Windows. The OS did reboot to Windows and I was glad because of that. The computer's hard drive did not make the clicking noise. VProtect Application is the program that had installed itself on the system's reboot.
Can anybody tell me if the VProtect Application is good to keep or should I remove it from the computer's hard drive?

Hello Maxcel,
Please be informed that VProtect Application and the file vprot.exe are part of AVG Toolbar. Numerous variations of vprot.exe have been installed with both AVG Security Toolbar and AVG SafeGuard toolbar. You can have the application on your PC so that you will be protected from threats that can be hidden on any type of website.
Thank you.
