Removal of AVG antivirus from Mac

Unable to update maps on Tom Tom gps using Macbook.
Tomtom support said problem is caused by AVG antivirus.
How do i remove?

I understand the inconvenience. Please uninstall AVG Antivirus from your Macbook and check if you are able to update Maps.

Please follow the instruction ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG-AntiVirus-for-Mac ) to uninstall the existing AVG Antivirus. If you face any difficulties in uninstalling the program, please open folder /Library/Application Support/AVGAntivirus/components/uninstall/ and run the com.avg.uninstall.app.
