Received an alert that said malware was in android system app. I followed the prompt to disable but it goes to an app that I cannot find in settings. I cannot disablenor remove. I tried safe mode as well and notjing works. Is this a false positive because I have done nothing new.
Hello Brandon. Thank you for contacting AVG Community Support. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. The issue is resolved and the detection is disabled now. We request you update the program or restart the device. That should stop the threat detection notification. We appreciate your cooperation in resolving the issue. Thank you.
Please clear the cached data of your AVG Antivirus program, restart your device once and check if the issue persists. Follow the below steps to clear the cached data of your AVG Antivirus program: Open device Settings > Apps/Application Management > AVG Antivirus > Tap Storage > Clear cache. Keep us updated.
As we mentioned our previous post, this was a false detection made by AVG and it has already been disabled. We request you initiate a new scan in your AVG Antivirus and check if the issue resurfaces. Keep us updated.
I'm also experiencing the same problem and have done all of the above steps (clearing cache, restarting phone, etc.). Do you recommend just ignoring the issue on the app or maybe uninstalling the app and re-installing it?
We're sorry to hear that. However, as we mentioned our previous post, this was a false detection made by AVG and it has already been disabled. We request you initiate a new scan in your AVG Antivirus and check if the issue resurfaces. Keep us updated.
